CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE: PLACES AND THINGS

Agharti: A city of evil martial arts masters and teachers located several miles below Mt. Everest. (HL)

Arcadia: The secret city of the Empyreans, located in Antarctica. (CU, HL)

Atlantis: The fabled underwater city, home to the magic-wielding Atlanteans. (CU, HL)

Basilisk Orb: A mysterious artifact of great mystic power, urgently sought by DEMON. (DEMON)

Beast Mountain: A hidden community of "beast-men" bred by Dr. Moreau, located in the Ukraine. (HL)

Demonhame: Generic term for a DEMON base. (DEMON)

Dimensions, alternate: Alternate planes of reality, sometimes visited by Earth's heroes. Earth's mystics often organize them in a scheme that follows the Sephirothic tree of Kabbalah. (CU, TMW)

GATEWAY: UNTIL's space station. (UDOF)

Homestead: The headquarters of the Champions in Millennium City. (Champions)

Kelvarite: A mysterious alien mineral that sometimes grants humans superpowers, often ones relating to super-strength or super-speed. Tachyon, Thunderbolt II, and Meteor are examples of superhumans whose powers derive from kelvarite. (CU)

Lemuria: The hidden land of the Lemurians, ancient enemies of the Atlanteans and Empyreans. (CU, HL)

Lyonesse: An extra-dimensional/underwater mystic realm located off the coast of Europe, home to (among others) the fiendish Fomorians.

Millennium City: The former Detroit, now built into a glittering, high-tech city; home to many superheroes... and villains. (CU, MC)

Monster Island: An island near Japan inhabited by many strange monsters created by the Qularr. (MI, CU)

Nest: Generic term for a VIPER base. (VIPER)

Project Sunburst: An ill-fated government project to create soldiers who could withstand a nuclear attack. Some of the few survivors have become supervillains, including Sunburst, Gigaton, Radium, and Armadillo. (CU, CV1)

Qliphothic World, the: The most dangerous dimensions, those "in back of" the regular dimensions, inhabited by malevolent beings such as the Kings of Edom. (CU, TMW)

Questionite: A nigh-unbreakable super-metal. (CU)

Ravenswood Academy: A school where teen superhumans can learn to use their powers. (TC)

Shamballah: A secret city located inside Mt. Everest, home to some of the world's great martial arts masters. (HL)

Vibora Bay: A city on the Gulf Coast of Florida, known for its unique "flavor" and culture, and sometimes the site of some strange, mystic occurrences. Black Mask is its chief superhero. (CU, VB)

Well of Worlds, the: A mysterious portal to the Dreamtime located in the Australian outback. (HL)

Yengtao Temple: The greatest of the secret martial arts temples. A few superheroes and villains have trained there, but rumor claims it was recently destroyed. (CU)
