How would one set everyman skills so they don't/do cost points? For example, I'd wish to build characters that don't get literacy for free.

When you're buying a Skill, select "Familiarity" and then "Everyman". That will set the cost to 0 points.

How does one make Transportation Familiarity - Automobile an everyman skill. It doesn't have the same pattern of familiarity check box followed by everyman check box like the other skills.

Apply a custom adder. Call it "Everyman Skill" or just leave the label blank. Set the point cost to negative.

TF and other non-roll-based Skills need to be handled this way in order to account for the variety of ways in which they can be purchased.

I found another way to do it. How about doing it as a custom skill, changing the display text to "Transport Familiarity - cars (everyman) 8-" and setting the cost to zero? Are there advantages to the adder solution over this?

I like the custom adder solution... Although, is there any way to modify the name "Custom Adder"?
