Mental Combat Follow-up

Ok, just so I get this straight. EGO does not affect SPD. But DEX does and EGO is replacing DEX for mental combat. So when in mental combat, does the EGO 40 PC act on Phases 3, 5, 8, 10, 12 when attacking only (which is what a DEX 40 allows him to do) or does he only go on Phases 6, 12 (his unmodified SPD 2)?

A character's SPD is not determined by his EGO, or by the types of actions/combat he's involved in. When he engages in Mental Combat, he uses his standard SPD. SPD does not differ for physical vs. mental purposes.
