Does anyone know of an online store that still has copies in stock of the HERO Resource Kit?

Anyone?

Nope. I ordered one from Games Lore a month ago, but the packet apparently was lost. :(
And they don't carry it anymore.
So I lost my money and still can't locate a RK.

A quick search of online retailers I'm familiar with and can recommend, netted the following folks who advertise paper copies of the Resource Kit available:

www.dragonstrove.com (under "Super-Hero Related Games")

www.cyberdungeon.com

www.sentrybox.com (prices in Canadian dollars)

Thanks, all. I'll give these guys (the ones Liaden posted) a shot this afternoon....

Yah, the only downside (and I do mean only) of the PDF version would be the lack of a GM's screen, and that's the part I really want. (Though I may buy both anyway just so I can have the reference charts on disk.)

I spent a few minutes going through the "Hero Retailers" links, and came up with more HSRK listings, including one in the UK. I must add that I have no firsthand experience dealing with them, so cannot offer a recommendation:

www.dlair.net

www.exemplargames.com

www.gameslore.co.uk

My firsthand experience dealing with Gameslore is that I paid in good Brit Pounds and got nothing. :(

Many thanks to the ever helpful, ever informative Lord Liaden.
Let's see if I can get a RK thsi time.

Well I recently saw a product that was a multi-fold screen that you could slide data sheets into. I dunno if there is one big enough for the Hero screen but you could look.

Otherwise you could just buy a big piece of cardboard, print the sheet, and glue the pages on.

(I have both paper and PDF myself. I bought the paper which was well worth it but I like having the PDF too so I can easily print more character sheets, cut and paste into new docs, etc.)

The product I was thinking of is called Master Screen and they have a 4 panel version called Master Screen Quad.

The maker is Citizen Games. (A little company run by some REALLY nice folks here in the bay area.)

I'm keeping those guys in business. I have the 3 and 4 panel screens. They're very useful. Even when I'm not the GM I insert useful stuff in there, my character sheet, and make notations in dry erase pen with wet erase pens.

If you track one down you can download the PDF of the resource kit ($8 in the Hero store), print and insert them. Extra work, but better than nothing.

There's online ordering through Warehouse23. This is not an endorsement as I've never done it.

I finally got mine from Sentry Box. I tried English (for shipping) and American (for currency) shops first, but only Sentry Box still carried the Resource Kit. And the staff is responsive and friendly, too. Three cheers for the Canadians! :)

Where is Modena? I lived in Milano for a year many years ago.

(My Italian was rotten then and is very very rusty now so if you respond in Italian I probably won't be able to read it :( )

Yes, we are a friendly and helpful people - everywhere but on a hockey rink. ;)

Do you mean that you have actually received your copy in Modena? What do you think - was it worth the effort?

If you were to amputate the boot from the rest of Europe, you'd find it in the middle of the cut.
Or you could check out mapquest and check out the international maps. ;)

Don't worry, I can speak your language. ;)

Lemming is right. Modena is roughly 100 miles to the southeast of Milano.

Yes, I got it in exactly one week. Of course I didn't buy just the RK: I got a few more books to dilute shipping costs. Since Sentry Box was the only shop still carrying the RK I could locate, I'd say yes, it was worth the effort. :) However, give the current Euro/Dollar exchange rate, shopping in the USA is usually slightly cheaper for me.

Generally speaking, I don't shop online, except for E-books and the like. I'd rather support my FLGS. Plus, I like phisically browsing books.

I make an exception for HERO books since they're somewhat hard to come by here.

Excellent! But I was actually curious as to what you thought of the RK itself, since you put yourself through so much angst to get it. ;)

I just placed the order via Cyberdungeon. I'll let you know how it works out.

It's a nice product, but I could as well make do with the PDF version. Except that I'm a collector as much as a gamer, so I just coudn't stand the tought of living without an hardcopy HERO product! :D

My HSRK arrived in today's mail, two weeks after I ordered it. Given that the order was given right before New Year's and shipping was from Quebec to Oregon, I'd say that's pretty darn good.

It was very carefully and completely packaged -- so completely, in fact, that even the "pull to open" tab was taped over.

That little error was my only complaint, though. The promptness is downright impressive for an international order, and the product is in pristine condition.

From now on, I think CyberDungeon may become my second place to look (whenever FRPGames, with the best prices, doesn't have what I'm looking for).
