Yet another ridiculous match-up... opinions? :D

(Stone Boy, for those unfamiliar, was a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes who could turn himself into a nigh-invulnerable stone statue.)

I guess I'm the only one who votes for the Punisher?

I mean, I figure Castle would figure out before long that his ammo isn't going to do him any good while Stone Boy's a statue, so just set up a little sniper's nest -- after all, the guy's gotta wake up some time.

oh rtheres an even easier way get a steel trunk put stone boy in it chain it shut throw in nearest deep water he may not be dead but he will eb if he ever changes back and if some one rescues him well it will take a long long time to find a steel coffin in lake eerie or new york harbour or what have you.

I'll vote for Stone Boy out of sheer loathing for the Punisher. ;)

Realizing he can not harm this thing, Punisher decides to dunk Stone Boy into the bottom of the bay.
As Stone boy sinks into the abyss, he reanimates, and whips the chain up and snags Punisher by the leg, dragging him down as well.

Either both die, or Punisher returns in the next movie/novel as "Frank the White" :D

First and foremost, I'm voting Stone Boy purely because I absolutely loathe the Punisher.

HOWEVER, if memory serves, when Stone Boy goes stone, he can't move and isn't aware of what's going on until someone says a certain word ('Nura'?). Therefore, if he did go stone, Punisher would probably have ample time to go off, get some high explosives of the demolitions variety, and nuke Stone Boy to gravel.

Which Stone Boy?
In the Real Legion (TM), i.e. before Zero Hour nonsense, the adult Stone Boy was able to stone up and move around at the same time.

I vote for SB for the same reason as most. A deep and abiding distate for Gun Bunnies.

I am taking your question seriously. I assume you are refering to my Superhero Showdowns when you wrote Stupid Showdown. After "seriously" studying the two characters, I would have to conclude that the Punisher would defeat Stone Boy. He would find a way to kill him, because Stone Boy is a punk kid.

No, Stone Boy is a decent character with an actual personality. He's actually a well developed and fleshed out 3D character. The version I'm familiar with also learned how to fight and move while in stone form. Punisher on the other hand is a third rate psycho who inexplicably became popular for reasons that continue to elude me to this day.

So obviously Stone Boy would clobber Punisher, as would a good many of his cohorts in the Subs.

Punisher, in my opinion, became popular back in the day bcs he was a throw back to noir style comics. I wasnt a Punisher fan, but wasnt he originally in an oversize b&w format, Punishers War Journal or some such? He escalated the violence scale past comic booky Biff Bam to lethal, which suits noir, gritty crime, and the like. He also got messed up himself in the process, rather than emerging from a scrap with his spandex body stocking unscathed.

I just didnt like when they combined him with super heros in the mainstream Marvel continuity. Oil and water to me, and way beyond the bounds of credibility. Any decent super should be able to school a middle aged hard-used normal with a gun, no matter how "kewl" he in the eyes of the fan boys. IMO, of course.

Punisher poses and looks impressive with his big guns. Stone Boy turns to stone and falls on Punisher, squishing him.

No contest.

dude. Don't diss Drura. Especially with this nasty flu going around.

Anyway, I suspect that even Porcupine Pete or Arm-Fall-Off Boy would win in a poll against the Punisher... just because it's the Punisher. :p

IMHO, one of the most frightening superheroes, ever. Would you rather be hit with Cyclops' blast (and be fine three panels later), or have her look you up wrong and spend three weeks in bed with Stomach Flu? Man, she stared down Universo with that threat!

Unless you're a total android or something, stay on her good side.

Seriously, but not too seriously. Stupid Showdowns are supposed to be a (hopefully not disrespectful) parody of the Superhero Showdowns, as with the Galactus vs. Ambush Bug thread.
