Our Villain is a former hero, now deranged and dangerous, who is a foreign super-patriot. See poll question 1.2 for WHY he's an expatriot turncoat. Here we will look at WHO he works for...

[EDIT: WHOOPS, forgot to mark the 1-day expiration. I'll simply have to check it tomorrow on time]

A Nazi is almost as good as a robot and not as racially charged as "savage"

I say North Korea. There is a reason that the Korean war is called the forgotten war. Our hero was lost in this war and 'forgotten' himself ... but North Korean scientists have cloned him and now it is time for a measure of revenge....

I'm hoping for either the Islamic Jihad or the Taliban... it's so contemporary. If that's TOO real for some, we could create a fictional name for a similar organization that only exists in the CU

I'm surprised that the Anti-Industrialists are running away with it. It's sounding like our villain is some kind of ecology nut.

Perhaps not an ecology nut. Perhaps someone who strongly believes in the "working class" and the rights of such over the "exploitation of the workers".

Not necessarily a Communist, or a Socialist, but possibly just a Unionist.

This ties in with my vote on the other thread of a "witness atrocity". If we pull in "nasty thing happens and company X takes advantage, exploiting the situation and causing major grief to a bunch of workers" someone who has feelings for, or sees himself as "defender of the common man" might decide to go off on the "evil corporations that hold down the little guy."

Yeah, or something of that nature... it looks very much like the color of the group in this case will be affected much more by the reason for his turning than by the second-place contender (though if there's a strong second place, that country/organization could be using the environmental organization as a front).

Just to use an example...one wonders how "Captain America" might feel about the environment, econolgy, the possible domination of large corporations. some of the stuff that was around in the 1940's isn't around any more...might he, or someone like him take a stand?

I voted for Communist China, in the hope of getting a free character for my Taiwan scenario.:D

I went with "save the planet" because I thought that would be an easy mindset for a hero to fall in to, but now I wish I voted North Korea. MIA Golden Age hero, "Manchurian Candidate"-style brainwashing, Russian cryonics experiment to bring him to the present - could be interesting.

I was going to follow suit with the current majority and vote for the world saving organization, but I think North Korea is the under the radar villain stomping grounds. They don't get nearly enough press these days.
