View Full Version : Removing Martial Maneuvers?

Is there any way using a customized template to remove martial arts maneuvers - I mean while still inheriting from main? Or would a plugin be necessary? I didn't see any way to reference maneuvers with the "REMOVE" statement in the templates as REMOVE apparently references XML IDs and there isn't any such thing that I could see as overtly declared and referencable for the Maneuvers.

Try <REMOVE>MANEUVER</REMOVE>

That does not seem to work, at least on my system. Do you need a trace or the example template file?

Post the template and I'll take a look....probably an issue in my iplementation.

Here's the template. I tried spelling maneuver a few different ways and adding an "s" in case, and also, in case I misinterpreted, tried putting in the display name of a maneuver individually, all to no avail.
By the way, any plans at all to allow for custom skill enhancers? I realize there should be a way to do this via a plugin, and I'll end up doing one anyway, but wondering.
PLEASE NOTE - the name of the file on my system is X-Superheroic.hdt, I had to rename it as the board does not accept ".hdt" (which you may want to fix by the way).
Since this was addressed, I deleted the attachment.

You can already do custom enhancers. That's part of the purpose behaind the "Common" and "Private" Adders.
Use the Common Adder to set the discount and use the Private Adder to set the cost of the Enhancer. If you wish, delete the text from both and they won't show up in the display. Then just add in the skills.

Yes, but you can't add it to a template so that it's a choice to whomever you distribute the template, correct? At least that's what the doc says (page 43), "You cannot add new Skill Enhancers."
Using the common and private adders, even if placing the adders into the template, wouldn't result in an association between types of skills and specific new skill enhancers, either, correct?

Correct on both accounts. And that's the way it's going to remain.
I've got the issue with removing the Maneuvers fixed for the next update.

So, Dan, will you be able to remove individual Maneuvers or will you just be able to remove all Maneuvers?

At this point, you remove them all and then recreate the ones that you want. Copying the existing Maneuvers from the Main.hdt template would be a good idea....
