So,

I'm building an RTF export template. In the background fields (like background, powers/tactics, etc.) I have paragraph breaks written in the character on Hero Designer.

I export, and they go bye-byes.

Am I doing something wrong, or is HD just not recognizing the paragraph breaks? If not, is there something that can be done about that for RTF exports?

I imagine the same problem occurs with HTML.

Those "tags" are containers for a reason: HD uses the contents of the container for the "line break" character(s) to use.

If you look at the default print template, you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about.

The idea here was that it shouldn't matter how the character was written...that should be independent of the export template.

Well, duh.

RTFM, Professor M@ss, RTFM.

Sorry to waste your time, Dan. My bad.

You may want to take a peek at the RTF Export templates that I did. They are pure RTF, not Word saved so the code is very clean. They are the Writer's Guidelines Full Character Sheet and Character Brief.
At the very least they might save you some time and anguish. ;)
I spent quite a bit of time getting them perfect with a lot of help from Dan in the way of thinking through the logic of the way the tags work.
