My apologies, those who came to tonight's chat, but I'm having some sort of connectivity problem and can't get the chat room to open up. Hopefully the problem will be solved by next week. ;)

I have also had connectivity problems with the chat applet. I typically have to start the applet, then shut it down, then restart. I have had to repaet this cycle up to 5 times before the applet loads properly. Once I get it up it works ok.

I am running XP home, 128 mb ram, 56k modem, and the latest Java runtime (I downloaded this to enhance HDv2). Hope this helps.

It's not a problem with the chat.

Steve is having problems with his ISP....I'm not sure what problems you're having.....you may want to check the Java console for errors. It may also help if you cleared your browser's cache.

Just to corroborate what Dan said, the chat room is not my problem. Normally I have no difficulties with it. The problem is my cable modem provider, to which I have just made yet another service call. It's an across-the-board problem, affecting many things, not just the chat room.

Sorry to hear this Steve, my DSL was out for over a week also. I had to install a modem (shudder) in my computer for a few days for Internet usage.

It's slow loading, but once loaded it runs fine until my computer locks up. At that point all I can do is hit the reset button. I always assumed the problem was Windows, though. I'm running Win98, anyone else have that one and notice a problem?

I suspect this "connection problem" can best be described as "Eliza Dushku is stopping by my place tonight, and I need an excuse to get out of chatting with these fools so I can be with her." :D

Man, if Eliza Dushku, or anyone else equally good-looking, were coming over to my house, I wouldn't be making excuses -- I'd be taking out banner ads telling everyone. ;)
