Hi There,
Does anyone know of a way to customize Hero Designer? I use a different way of calculating Element Controls (1st Edition way, highest cost power full cost all following are half) and I can't see any way of making it work.
Any suggestions??

Power Frameworks are one of the (relatively few) things that you cannot adjust in HD at this time.

Thanks Dan, Any plans for this in the near future?
I love the program but I can't use it to it's full potential.

It's possible, but probably won't happen until at least v2.
The main emphasis on v1 was implementing all of the myriad rules and regulations of the Hero System....I tossed in as much customizability as could be accomplished in the time allotted, but some things had to be hard-coded into place (like Power Frameworks).
One of the main areas that I'll be concentrating on for v2 will be to "open up" any of the hard-coded areas to customization. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get absolutely everything, but I should be able to get a fair amount. Power Frameworks were one of the items that I've been planning on revisiting.

I just thought of this and it might or might not work, depending on how you analyze it.
One way you could simulate your EC is to give all of your lesser Powers a -1 Limitation (Elemental Control Power). Since putting a -1 Limitation on a Power effectively makes you divide its Active Cost by 2 (Active Cost / (1 + Limitation Value)), it might be a fair way to simulate the 1st Edition EC until Dan can play with the coding.

Your suggestion would only work if there were no other Limitations on the power in question. Otherwise the value would combine with the other limitations and alter the overall cost.
Thanks anyway,

You could use custom adders that subtracted the value needed. Kind of a pain since you'd have to do the math, but doable.

youe could use a list and give it the custom mod.
