HD 2.15 does not allow "affects Desolid" to be applied to DEF bought as a power. The reason it states is that that advantage can only be applied to Defense powers or powers that affect others. Does the DEF of a wall not qualify as a defense power? What is the correct way to create a wall (for a base) that can stop someone who is desolid?

Also, I cannot find the "Cannot be escaped with teleportation" advantage (also for walls) in either the legal or illegal advantage section. How can I apply this advantage for a wall?

Affects Desolid: Fixed.

"Cannot Be Escaped...": Is only a valid Limitation on Entangles, which is where it is defined in FREd.

Hardened I thought was the adv. applied to defenses to stop desolid. Applied to teleporting through as well.

Teleporting, yes.....Desolid apparently gets the "Affects Desolid" Advantage...

For the "Cannot Be Escaped With Teleportation" advantage, as it's listed on page 150 of the 5th ed. (it is mentioned in both the Entangle description and the Teleportation description - I'm looking at the version listed with Teleportation - which seems to be more complete than the one described in the Entangle description), it says it applies to walls as well as entangles (the first line of the advantage's description reads: "Characters apply this Advantage to walls, Entangles, and other barriers to prevent Teleporters from Teleporting through them.")

The way it reads, it seems to work like "hardened" - but for Teleportation (i.e. multiple levels of "Cannot Be Escaped With Teleportation" counter multiple levels of Teleport with AP).

So does this mean that this advantage should be available for the DEF attribute of walls (by purchasing DEF as a power and then adding said advantage)? Currently, it does not appear to be available (in either the legal or illegal advantages sections).

The same seems to apply to the "Affects Desolid" advantage. Page 158 of the 5th ed. (last sentence of the first paragraph of the advantage's description) says "Affects Desolidified can also be used to create walls which Desolidified characters cannot pass through."

So does this mean that this advantage should also be available for the DEF attribute of walls (by purchasing DEF as a power and then adding said advantage)? Currently it appears only in the illegal advantages section.

Read above: Affects Desolid is available for any Power which either affects others or is a Defense Power. I've adjusted things in the Modifier Intelligence to make sure that it shows as available for DEF.

As for the "Cannot be escaped..." I"m going with what Steve has told me. If you want different, either use a Custom Modifier, use Hardened and rename it (the values are the same), or talk to Steve.

I posted the question to the 5th ed rules questions board.

Steve's reply is that I need to apply "cannot be escaped with Teleportation" to the DEF of a wall in order to stop TP. You might want to double check with him on the applicability of this advantage when it come to applying it to the DEF of a wall - citing his response to my question.

Sigh...always changes ;)

OK...I've generalized "Cannot Be Escaped With Teleportation" and added it into the Modifier Intelligence scheme. It will currently list itself as available of Entangle, Force Wall, and DEF (and Naked Modifiers). I've also made it a level-based ability and given it a display scheme similar to Armor Piercing (where the "levels" will be shown if they are greater than 1).

Available in the next update (likely tomorrow)
