Has anyone decided on running HERO games at KublaCon on Memorial Day weekend?
Also, I have a room at the conevntion and have enough time to change my reservation to include multiple beds. I could stand to have 1-3 roiommates to share expenses and offer company at the convention.

I've done HERO System games at KublaCon the last two years, but I'm not sure if I'll be doing one this year. Last year, I found out (after signing up to run a game) that there were two game tables per "room". (This hadn't been the case the year before.) By good fortune, I didn't have another game scheduled in my room at the same time as mine, but there could have been one. I checked with the new RPG coordinator this year to ask if that would be the case again, and he said that it was unclear, and depended on some factors like demand and timing, but that it was possible.
That's what's giving me pause. I would really hate running a game (especially a noisy game like Challenge of the Superfriends) with another game going on in the same room. I'm leaning toward not doing it at this point, but, well... I just don't know. :)
(As for the rooming, if I do go to Kubla, it will be for one day only. DunDraCon is the only con I attend for multiple days.)

I'm actually new to the system. But, I will definitely be at KublaCon for the entire weekend. I am helping the North Bay Gaming Group with some crossfire ww2 scenarios one of the days. The rest of the con is a bit unclear at this point. I would love to get into a game. The trick to avoiding all the noise is to run a game all night ;)

I didn't understand the double booking either. As far as I could tell, they never actually had two games in the same room. They manage to spread everyone out. I played in several games that were supposed to be double occupied and never saw hide nor hair of the other group. I want to run something, but I've never run a game at a con and I'm afraid. Maybe I'll just try the open gaming area.

Hi Guys,
I recognize a few of your names from running games at KublaCon last year. It was great having you as GMs.
Last year, as assistant RPG coordinator, I worked hard to arrange the RPGs at KC so that the number of games that had to share rooms would be minimized. I think there were four overlaps in the end.
Anthony Gallela told me that they were going to have one game per room this year. SInce I'm not going to be working the con again, that might no longer hold. Hopefully it will hold, as other local conventions have one game to a room and that's what the local gamers will compare any local con against.
While I'm not working KC again, I would be there this year except for a new work conflict. Hopefully, I'll have my Star Hero campaign (called "The New Abbey") ready for Conquest '04 or DunDraCon 29.
Have fun at KC,
Kris

Just got my game confirmed. I'll be running a Champions scenario at the Con, though the time has not been finalized yet. So, there's at least one HERO game in the program.

Excellent! I wish I could be there.
Is your game "The Weight of History?" It sounds like a good one.

Maybe I just missed it, but they don't have a Champions game (only a Hero System) game online yet...
Anyway, have fun and if you have time, drop us some juicy details about your game.

Thanks Derek. Keith's game sounds pretty cool. Kublacon does have a separate category for Champions compared to Hero System in their database (and I hadn't had my morning coffee then) so I thought maybe I'd missed something.
