A reference to something in today's news. And Osiris is Mr. Long's cat. Though it doesn't seem to get any of the writing credits in the books, it's picture (I learned last night) appears in the front of the Hero Bestiary.

The funny thing about it is, I usually don't drink coffee. And I almost never eat or drink when I'm working, because I'm afraid I'll spill something on the keyboard, or my notes, or a reference book. Occasionally I do treat myself to a smoothie, tho. ;)

I thought maybe Darren had a setup like I read about in Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized Parody . The publishing company kept Rowling in a basement room with a metal floor wired to administer electric shocks when her word per minute count dropped below a certain level.:D
