Hello everyone, I am currently pondering on purchasing some Hero System (Champions mainly) products and when I was viewing the online store I noticed several 'DAMAGED' entries.

How damaged is damaged? I don't mind a few dents/scratches in the cover or some bent pages as long as all the information (and pages) are intact. Books don't tend to last long out here in the desert climate anyway. :D

If the books are missing pages then that's a different story.

Cheers.

By damaged we simply mean that it has some dents in the binding or some folds on the covers or pages... it's all stuff that the distributors sent back. And they can be very picky sometimes.

Heh, just bought a few books, I'll let you folks know how they turn out...

Cheers.

When at DunDraCon, they pulled out a couple copies of damaged books for me and I actually couldn't find the damage. ;)

Most damages I have seen are ones that your book would receive in one night's game session of passing it around to people then packing it up and taking it home.

I bought a damaged copy of Champions Universe from the web site. It took a bit of effort for me to even find the damage, but the upper right hand corner is a bit smushed. It's nothing more than I would likely do to it through regular usage, so I consdier it broken in for me already. :)

They are not really that bad at all. The 'damage' doesn't consist more of the usual corner dings (about 1/2 to 1 inch from the edge) you would get sometimes from shipping damage.

The damage on the paperbound is just like that. Take about half an inch corner all through the book and fold it back. That's it.

The hardcover was a wee bit worse probably because it's so dang heavy. It looks like it had been dropped onto the book's corners.

I've gotten worse when I've bought 'new' from places like amazon, buy.com and such.

In all cases all the pages and content are intact and that's all I really need.

Cheers. :D
