OK...now that I've got the "Filter by Source Book" functionality worked in, I've gotten the "go ahead" from Steve to add in any abilities in the supplements that are missing from HD (and which folks want to see)

Before I have everyone start posting their lists, please understand that I will continue to maintain control over which abilities actually go in. I may not put in everything that everyone asks for.

That said, what is missing that you would like to see? Please provide source book and page number, if possible.

Okie, this was mentioned in the Sourcebook thread, and you already stated your answer. But here's an official request.

the bits from Digital Hero added to HD would be cool. I realize they are unofficial rules, but they have been published at a certain level and therefore count as "published" material in my twisted little view.

Since you're going so far as to divide things out by Sourcebook I figured that Digital Hero counted and one could easily deselect them as options under this method.

As I stated in the other thread, you'll need to go through Steve. In his own words, DH is NOT official.

Oh, I realize that entirely, and don't expect to see it. But sometimes it never hurts to make your voice heard. And you have more clout with Steve than I do :D
This also seemed like the most appropriate place to make that request.

I'm not going to go to Steve with it....mainly because I agree with his stance that the material in DH is not official and (therfore) should not be included in the official templates for HD, no matter what the source reference is.

Ok, that's cool with me. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for answering, that's more than most companies would do.

How about things from the FAQ?

I'm specifically thinking of the Makeover adder and the Body only limitation for Shape Shift, but I think there are others, as well.

FAQ entries are fine....but please provide me with specific references where available so that I can cite the source.

Affects Body Only :
By default Shape Shift encompasses a character’s gear. If a character doesn’t want that, he can take a -1/2 Limitation, Affects Body Only
-F.A.Q. page 89

MakeOver :
For a +5 point Adder, Makeover, a character with either form [sight or touch] of Shape Shift can alter his COM within the range of standards the GM has defined for the campaign.
-F.A.Q. Page 89

oops, I should mention that the page references are to the PDF version of the FAQ. In the HTML version they're on the power (http://www.herogames.com/SupportFAQs/rules/POWERS.htm) page.

Both added. The page references are a good thing.

The page references are a good thing. Not really. (At least, not for the definition info in HD.) The page numbers will change every time the PDF changes, because the info in the FAQ is reformatted every time. It would be better for the definition section in HD to refer to them by the section of the FAQ they're in.

Could you add all of the current Weapon Familiarity categories to the list of Weapon Elements in the Martial Arts tab. In particular the weapon categories from Star Hero.

I know I raised this earlier and you said just to over-write one of the existing categories. But I figured why not ask again in this thread, it's worth a shot, isn't it? ;-)

Now that they can be filtered, I'm adding them in as I go through each of the supplements.

I should have FH finished off this weekend (hopefully)....after that, I'm going to hit NH, and then SH...and then keep on working my way through.

I'm adding in any abilities that are defined in the supplements as I go, including adders and options on existing abilities. I'm also updating the page references in the definitions to include the supplemental material.

OK....just finished going through Fantasy Hero, updating the page references in the definitions for all abilities in the main template and inserting any abilities defined in FH that weren't already included in HD.

*pant*

The results are available in the current interim build.

I'll likely be pushing up a new full update (2.24) in the not too distant future, as the 2.23 update has a few performance issues (and bugs) with the new filter by sourcebook feature.

If you notice anything that you think is missing, please let me know.

OK...I've done a quick once-over of Fantasy Hero, Ninja Hero, Star Hero, Champions, The Ultimate Vehicle, The Ultimate Martial Artist, and UNTIL Superpowers Database. All abilities that I saw defined in those supplements have been inserted.

I'm sure I missed some, so please let me know if you run across any.

Does the FH support include support for Hit Locations and Armor? If not, that is a feature I would really like to see.

There's not much to be done there beyond the addition of the Sectional Defenses Limitation, which was added a while ago.

Do you know what the plans are for the character pack for FH then? Will equipment be part of that pack and will sectional armor be available?

I have no idea...I don't do the character packs.

Sectional Defenses were put into the app in version 2.23, but were available prior to that in a custom template that (I believe) Fitz wrote. 2.23 just handles them a bit differently (there were a couple of rules issues with Fitz' implementation).

OK...the Sidekick "filtering" for HD is done and is currently available in the interim build (see the change log thread for the link).

To use:

Go to File -> Preferences... and uncheck all source books on the "Template" tab except for SIdekick. This will remove all abilities not defined in Sidekick, as well as all Adders, Modifiers, etc.

It is important that you use the built-in templates when you do this, as custom templates will not have been adjusted yet.

Enjoy!

--This will be a part of the next update (2.25) if you don't want to mess around with the interim build.

A note on the Sidekick filtering:

Because there are some duplicate maneuvers between the Sidekick sources and the FREd sources (frex, Shape Shift), HD won't allow you to have both Sidekick and FREd selected at the same time....it's redundant.

If you select both Sidekick and FREd as source books, Sidekick will be igmored (since it is a subset of FREd).

Not quite powers or abilities, but what about the different names from the sourcebooks for skills (healing for paramedics in FH for instance)? Can anything been done with something like that?

No....it's got to be one or the other, since you can have multiple source books selected at a given time. To do anything else would create a huge number of duplicate entries.

Renaming and the like are best kept in the purview of prefabs.

Okay - thanks for the info.
