hey guys,

how would I mimic superman's super breath. I was thinking something that does no damage but does knockback. well, knockback isn't available for energy blast...

any ideas?

You should probaby buy it as Telekenesis with a AoE

Actually, it should be bought as a multipower.

One slot would be TK with Area Effect-Line; the other would be TK with Area Effect-Cone. Both TK slots should also have the limitation Only to Move Objects Directly Away, which would probably be a -1/2 Limitation.

how would you handle damage from being blown back into say.....a bus?

I believe if it would be done as if the person blown by it as if he was being subjected to a move through

10d6 EB, Double Knockback, AE Line, No Range.

I would just apply the TK's strength damage. Same thing as if a character was thrown. (Check under Grab maneuver FRed p.256)

Actually, Knockback is available for Energy Blast - it's one of the standard effects of EB in super-heroic games.

There's a venerable and widely-used Limitation on EB, "Only Does Knockback" (-1). The target can be hurled backward (roll for Knockback), but doesn't actually take any STUN or BODY damage unless it hits something in its flight path. This construct is particularly effective if you place the Double Knockback Advantage on the Energy Blast.

After that, it's just a matter of adding the appropriate Area of Effect Advantage to give it the desired shape and size. Many people who build a power like this often take the No Range Limitation on it, meaning that the Area of Effect would start at the hex directly adjacent to the character if it's a Cone or Line.

I hope that helps. :)

Supes also uses his super-breath to extinguish fires, so don't forget a slot for "Dispel vs Fire Effects"

you could also use the velocity optional rules for calculating damage from being blown into something (pg 292) I think they are less abused rules
