I managed to find a bunch of scans of artwork one of my players did way back in 1992.

Her name is Vikki and she is (I hope still) a very talented artist.

This work may not beused as I cannot provide permission.

Up first is Beetle. A dimunitive inventor/gadgeteer who built a suit of liquid metal that responded to his mental commands. A very light-hearted character :) In current campaign time he is retired and paralyzed after a major battle.

Grrrrr...

I have more images, but for some reason I can't get the VB code to display the image in the body of the message. I do what it says in the example (and what seems to work on other boards most times) but this one won't.

Help?

Okay here goes.

This is Brain-Flexx, a mjor league villain from my campaign. Leader of Ravage 5, he and his team's name are enough to throw shivers of fear down the spines of my veteran players :) Gotta love a villain that has earned his stripes. This look is an old one, I have recently changed it dramatically, but alas no picture.

Nice Work AslanC! Those are really good. Alas I cannot take credit for them beyond concept. As I stated back at the start of this, these were done by an artist named Vikki Lacoursiere, who played in my MSH game from 92-94. She did some fantastic work, these are just the ones I have scanned (I have plenty more that are not).

Unfortunately she and I are no longer in touch so I cannot pass on your praise, but still it is good karma to put it out there.

I have about 7 or so more to post still

Did you see Bunny in Enforcers Hero A Day thread? I think this would be a good pic for her also. I think it is rather ironic that you would draw this as I was looking for a suitable female pic to PhotoShop. There was just something about the character writeup that I thought it deserved a pic.

Thanks folks.

Nope, have't been in that thread in a long time. There are just 4 or 5 ideas that have been skipping around my head for years and neve seem to make it to paper. This one finally did, though I have no character write up, so I may go check that out. The first idea I had was more playboy bunny-ish, but honestly...way I started it... no way she woulda stayed in her costume throughout the entire fight! Talk about comicbook physics.

You'll notice one error: The cropping. The hand is cut off. It's because it was misshapen and the beaker I drew in it was equally misshapen. Oh well.

I've just come across this thread and have managed to look through the first 30-ish pages, so I thought I'd add a couple of images for starters. They are created using the HeroMachine v2.0 program.

These two are the main villains that the players in my campaign will eventually meet as they journey through a magical 'Aladdin-esque' parallel dimension in search of one of their missing team-mates.

The lady with the snakey lower torso is a powerfull mystic, and the 'brick' is her created bodyguard.

Here are a few of the characters from my campaigns leading British hero team, UK-X. They are a government/ military sponsored team, and have a 'friendly' rivalry with the London Knights (basically a merging of The New Knights and London Watch from the real CU).

Most of the UK-X team members have names linked to British legend or tradition to make them more poular with the public. The costumes have a 'red, white, and blue' theme (colours of the British flag) to represent patriotism

Big Ben is a mutant with growth powers.

Herald is a psi. Herald was slightly touched up in Paint (yes Paint! I've not had time to master anything more complicated yet)

Static UK
Aug 3rd, '04, 01:51 AM
This is a before and after shot of the heroine Oak. The 'before' was from when she was a member of the 'vaguely' heroic all girl team of mercenaries Plantlife, folowed by a short solo career. The 'after' shot is her now, as a member of UK-X.

Static UK
Aug 3rd, '04, 02:08 AM
Here are two more from UK-X.

Raven is a pseudo-mystic, she manipulates the energies of the shadowforce dimension (ie, I ripped off Marvels Darkforce dimension  )

Rose is another ex-member of Plantlife. She has minor cybernetic enhancements that allow her to shot fletchettes from her fingers, and has some sight abilities. I added the rose motif to her thigh using Paint.

Static UK
Aug 3rd, '04, 02:13 AM
o.k. it kind of worked...lol... I am really bad with this sort of stuff... :angst:
Sorry guys

~Amused~

I like her. In my HERO campaign (based in the UK as it's were I am) I have lots of faerie type folk of different species and sizes. She'd fit right in there. In fact, she may just make a guest appearance some time...

Here is Gaelic Guardian, she is friend to the faerie folk, and occasionally has a couple as companions. She has a mystic bow, and a book of nature themed magic spells.

Static UK
Aug 3rd, '04, 02:20 AM
With the increasing numbers of paranormals in the world, especially in the UK due to the influx of mystical energies from an open gateway (in Cheshire) to the Elfan homeworld, the British goverment initiated a training program for those who wished to learn how to better use their powers, and maybe even become government sponsored heroes.

Here are two:

Beefeater is a 'brick' with tough skin. That's all!

Swithin is a water generator and manipulator. It is theorised that she may have some faerie conection, as she doesn't register as a mutant!

Static UK
Aug 3rd, '04, 02:31 AM
Black Rod is another manipulator of the Shadowforce energies, and is a favoured pupil of Raven (for obvious reasons).

Stonehenge is a large (~8' 6") stone-fleshed 'brick'. I have made use of the Ultimate Brick book for some of his abilities.

There are other members of UK-X, such as Barrier (female, TK & FF), Churchill (male, military background and hi tech prototype weaponry), Bulldog (male, top secret cyber-agent), and newest member Mesmer (female, a psi who needs a name change to something more 'traditional', not that she wants to!) The other trainees include Spitfire III (female flying fire generator) and Tower (female, permanent 2 levels of Growth plus moderate STR).

As a general rule, I do not care for the character drawings made with Hero Machine. I could list a whole bunch of things I don't like, but it boils down to a matter of taste. However, I did make this one drawing that I actually liked. A lot. I even went on to use it for a character. Without further ado, I present Doctor Zero (originally he was called Doctor Neutron, but he changed his nom de guerre when the government scientists figured out that his power was not, in fact, based on the manipulation of neutrons).

That's alright...if s/he was a 'real' Marvel charater or DC charater interacting in there 'real' worlds, chances are s/he woulden't acualy look like an anime charater eather. Besides, I can always say the image was from a local newspaper's "artest redition" thing (like the 'devil' version od Dairdevil in the movie of the same name).

Which reminds me...any of you guys had any of your charaters done in such an "artest redition" for the newspaper style?

Here's one I did a while back for a friend of mine. The Character's name is Topaz, The group was playing a team where every character was named for a gem or precious stone. The team leader was called Signet and had a ring with all the character's stones in it. He could use his mental powers on the stones in the ring and communicate with the corrisponding team member.

My friend wanted a big muscle bound, monster truck lovin, pro wrestling emulator. That's what he got.

Another from the team. Originally he was called Obsidian as you can see in the pic but later the player changed his name to Jade because of the chamion's character in the main book which was called obsidian...

Incidently this character was played by the brother of the guy who played topaz.

Two things Herophiles.

I know there is a site that lets you design constumes in the DC Universe style of cartoons. I thought I had bookmarked the site, but I guess I didn't. Does it still exist and can someone please post the link?

I have a number of character templates that have been posted on the boards before. My favorite is one by Albert Deschene (not sure about spelling). I've actualy had that set for years and have used it many times. It is saved as a PDF. Whenever I go to print from Adobe Reader it will not print the character body. Only the sidebar area, though on the computer you can see the body outline. If I open it it Photoshop it doesn't even recognize there is something there on the right side of the page, it only sees the title and sidebar info. Has anyone else run into this? And if so how can it be fixed? I have printed dozens of the forms before with no problem, but now I can't and I really want to start designing some new costumes!

Thanks for your help.

I don't know about that, but I do know of a site with outlines that you could download and use Photoshop to color in yourself.

Oops: strike that. The site doesn't exist anymore. It was called "DCU Animated Style Templates". Boy, am I glad I downloaded them when I found them! (Always download anything you like, because any web site can vanish at any time.)

However, here are a couple of other galleries of good quality, Timm-inspired characters:

DCU Galleries (http://www.dcugalleries.ca/)

Heroic Chicago YahooGroup (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/heroicchicago/?yguid=446922) (some GREAT original characters here)

I'm not sure I understand. You are trying to open a PDF file in Photoshop? Photoshop can open some PDF files, and even rasterize them, but it's not the best tool for the job, and if you want to open something in Photoshop later, PDF is not the best format.

If you would like help, you can email me the file and I will see if I can convert it over to a format that Photoshop likes better.

Actually, one of my longer-term (meaning, I may never actually get around to doing it) projects is to write a "Costume Shop" application in the Bruce Timm style, like I think you are describing. It would be free, of course. But if anyone knows of an existing free or open source program along that line, I'd be very interested in knowing about it (and possibly helping with its development).

Hero thread for Character Creator (http://herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3061&page=1&pp=15)

There is a link on page 2 I believe for the beta of the program.

As for the other question. I have opened the PDF in Reader and photoshop. In Reader I can see the character sillouette (i know that is spelled wrong), but it won't print. In photoshop it won't even load. I"m gonna check out adobes site to see what they say.

Thanks again.

As a general rule, I do not care for the character drawings made with Hero Machine. I could list a whole bunch of things I don't like, but it boils down to a matter of taste.

I admit HeroMachine isn't perfect, but it is useful for the artistically challenged, and you can make some decent looking costumes. I have an absolute s**t load of my own creations from when I played the original Marvel Superheroes system, 99% based on templates or traced figure outlines, some of which I am very proud of!

I'm off work for three weeks (moving house and holiday). When I get my computer back up and running I'll be scanning stuff for your perusal. I also plan on doing some comparisons of my own artwork to HeroMachine 'updates' of character costumes that I've done. Sorry! :tsk: :D

Oh, I only found this thread a week or so back, and I have spent about three hours a day trwling through it, and I'm only upto page 95-ish!

Speaking of scribbling. Here are two more lunchtime doodles.

The other I have no idea about except that she is one of the many folk who belong to "The Black Lantern", a cult that studies and employs evil in order to fight evil. As you can guess they have plenty of people who become so corrupt they don't know where the line ends.

Hi there, everyone. I'm a long-time Champions player (first-played back in 1987), and have been looking to get back into the hobby (I even picked up 'Galactic Champions' today after hearing lots of good things about it over at RPGnet).

My big thing is artwork. I'm a professional comic book colourist (I've done too much to list here, but recently I've beed working on the 'Chronicles of Conan' reprint volumes, volumes 1, 3, and 4, as well as volume 5 coming out later this month), and I believe there are even a couple of people on these boards who have commissioned work from me in the past. For those who were on the pre-release City of Heroes boards, I was known there as 'red bee', and had done a lot of different work for people.

Anyway, I thought I'd post a few things here for you all to take a look at. This first one is of my character 'Agent Hermes'. Enjoy!

Let's see, here is one of a character called 'Dreamweaver'.

Just so you folks know, all the pictures of mine were drawn by me (usually on 2-ply Bristol or 110-lb sketch paper with 2H and HB pencils), then either inked by me by hand or in Photoshop, then painted up in Photoshop.

I'll mostly be posting a bunch of pics for characters I'm creating for a new Champions game I'll be (hopefully) running soon (based around Galactic Champions, I think...). Plus I'll probably be posting new pictures of old characters from my old games... stuff like that.

Anyway, here is another one, a pic of 'The Raven Brigade', the super hero team in my webcomic 'Tales of the Tower Raven'. Now, this pic has appeared in Issue #2 of the 'City of Heroes' comic book (or at least it was supposed to - I still haven't seen that issue - any CoH players here get this issue and see this picture yet? please let me know), but since it wasn't a paying gig or anything (or CoH specific characters - I never actually created any of them in the game when I was in the Beta test, and I haven't gotten around to buying the game yet...) I figure I can post it here as well.

The one about the nose struck me funny, because I've always thought I didn't include enough detail there :)

Noses are tricky for a lot of artists.
Personally, I have more trouble with teeth.
I find that the more detail I draw on a facial feature, the more attention it gets. Minimalistic noses are a good way to do it. I think the eyes should be the focal point, anyway, unless you are drawing a monstrous pic where you want a toothy mouth to draw the eye.

I have trouble with Hands, Noses, Teeth (as well), Ears (typically their placement), and a few other things. I like my own stuff much better when I stand back and take it as a whole, because when I start analyzing parts I start finding ridiculous things.

But generally, mouths remain closed, or if they're open there's nothing inside; Noses are typically a few tiny details at the base and maybe one line for the bridge; Hands are often fists or are gripping something, and ears remain beneath hair. But I'm Trying! It's just that those pics where the hands are visible (and still remain mangled) never get posted.

IanSokoliwski
Aug 11th, '04, 07:28 AM
I thought you were doing rather well there, Blue. If you are looking to improve those facial features, however, you could take a look at the book 'Drawing the Human Head' by Burne Hogarth. It has the best facial construction and layout techniques I've ever seen (I still consult it about ears:) )

So here is another piece. This one was done directly from pencils to colouring, with no inking (digital or otherwise) involved along the way. The character was one I had created for some self-promotional work that I still have yet to get to.

Aug 11th, '04, 07:31 AM
Another great pic :)

Everyone recommends Hogarth, and I've had several of his books over the years, but I have trouble learning drawing from books. But I'm actually much better with faces in close-up. It's when I'm doing something where you see the whole body that I simplify the face a lot; sometimes it works and sometimes I want to tear my hair out. If I sit down and draw a face only, I do a decent job. Except, like Mags, with the teeth. Just forget about that. They look dumb when I draw teeth.

I kind of like this one because of the perspective. Most of my drawings are parallel to you because I mess up body perspective.

With your fingers, follow your jawline up to the hinge. That is where the lower part of an average person's ear (lobe or no lobe) is attached to the head. It goes up from there, of course, only slightly angled back. That should help you gauge where to place them. :)

For a while, I had been running a Champions game in a universe where Marvel, DC, Image, and Star Trek characters all basically coexisted, and had for some time.

In this game, I ended up creating a large number of characters who had characteristics of more than one character from the various companies (Franklin Richards had grown up and become the hero Supreme, a clone of Superman by the name of Simon Williams became Superboy in the 60's, Wonder Man in the 70's and 80's, then, after acquiring the Hammer of Thor [after Thor died fighting an insane Superman], became Thunderstrike, stuff like that). And of course, I ended up drawing a few of them.

Here, I have a picture of Ms Mary Marvel. After nearly dying in a battle against a Cardassian war fleet (the battle which had driven the original Superman insane over a decade ago), Mary Marvel was revived from cryogenic stasis and healed of her wounds by a combination of Fantastic Four and Krypton technology. She also lost her ability to resume her unpowered human form, and gained some new abilities.

Now, I'm aware of the slightly-too-skinny ankles (and limbs in general) on the illustration - it is still more-or-less what I was looking for, however, so I'm fairly happy with it.

IanSokoliwski, have you ever considered doing some tutorials or tricks and tips for painting using PhotoShop?

I've thought about it, and still might get around to it. The problem is that I use a variety of techniques, the kind of thing you only really learn by using the program eight hours a day, five days a week, for seven years. Plus, I use both layers and channels, and I know that confuses a lot of people (especially channels, for some reason - I find channels to be one of the easier things to use, but some folks just find them confusing).

One thing I will say, if you are serious about wanting to use Photoshop (or similar programs) to their fullest potential, get yourself a tablet and stylus. For me, there is nothing worse than trying to paint using a mouse. And tablets can start around $60-$80 (for smaller ones).

But thanks for the compliment :)

Now, here is a pic I did for a friend of his character in my Champions game (at the time). This one is unusual in that I didn't draw the picture out on paper, scan it, then paint it. Instead, I drew it freehand in Photoshop directly. Normally, I don't much care for this technique (as good as stylus' can be, they are still no match for a good Speedball pen or brush), but every once in a while, I like to play around with the technique.

But thanks for the compliment :)Perhaps you could do a hand-full of tutorials for the different techniques that you use. I have found some really good tutorial sites out there and I have to imagine that they bring the artists some business that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

pslovers.com is a compilation site that has hundreds of links to various tutorials. Some are not very good, others are excellent.

Personaly, I understand channels at the basic level, but haven't figured out how to use them to any great advantage yet. I'm all over layers though. I couldn't imagine doing any type of computer artwork without them.

And you are most welcome. :D I read through a couple of your comics on your website, and was more than a lot impressed. You do excellent work!

Mags

Yeah, I agree with this.

It's funny, at my last job, I had to train quite a few people in Photoshop, and I don't know how many times if you go through something with a person and you are right beside them, how hard it is for them to pick up a technique or similar bit the first time (this isn't singling out any one person or anything; generally, you have to show a person how to do something, then they try it, and you have to help them correct the mistakes - it is pretty universal that you can only 'learn to do by doing').

That is also why I'm a little fuzzy on the concept of online tutorials. Sure, there is lots you can learn from following the instructions of someone else, but the best way to learn is to dive in, muck around, make some huge mistakes...I suppose it is best to be able to physically show them what you did, so they can correct where you went wrong.

I dunno. Maybe I will get around to that tutorial thing yet...:)

Magmarock

... but the best way to learn is to dive in, muck around, make some huge mistakes...

This doesn't work for me. I need to understand how the layering works and mucking around will only produce an accident which I may (or may not) be able to duplicate in the future. Some tutorials are detailed enough to tell me what I need to know, but I've found that most tutorials assume you are familiar with everything the program can do (which I am not).

So I do my best with what I do know.

Magmarock one thing I found helpful when i was first learning photoshop was reading the help files its got a lot of very detailed information on the various filters and layer options including the mathematics of it all. Of course one of my uni classes was on image manipulation which helped as well.

it can be hard to remember if you have been goofing around, what you did to get a particular effect.

I have a great picture I did about a month after I started using photoshop and i still havent been able to redo it so it looks the same. My advice is to keep a note book by the computer and if you find a particularly nice effect jot down the settings.

That can be tricky - the problem with that is that you can easily lose the 'line weight' in an image (granted, that can also be a problem with inking only with technical pens rather than Speedball pens and brushes), making it a bit flatter.

Hey all

okay, I thought I'd show the current self-promotional piece I am working on (between paying gigs, that is), and I'd show it in various stages.

First, here is the basic pencil illustration. This is drawn out on an 12"x17" sheet of 2-ply Bristol, and is drawn at 10"x15". Most of my illustrations are done at these dimensions (generally-accepted comic book standard).

Note that I will be inking this piece by hand later.

Now, one other thing. Like I said, this is a self-promotional piece (of the Raven Brigade, the super hero team from my 'Tales of the Tower Raven' webcomic), and it will be used as the cover page to an upcoming issue of an online comics magazine (that will be featuring an interview with me :)). Normally, I add in backgrounds, just to create a sense of place. I haven't yet added in that background yet (I'm still deciding over that one) - if I do, it will precede the inking stage (I'll be deciding that Tuesday or Wednesday, whenever I get this other project completed).

Once inked, I will be tweaking it slightly (making the front motorcycle wheel a bit more realistic, moving Knight Commanders' head slightly, things like that). I tend to fiddle a bit with my inks in Photoshop a wee bit.

Oh I agree :) That's where I was before ... using Micron pens ... always felt they had a bit of a bleed problem in many of the pics I drew ... the digi ink looks more crisp and is a bit more forgiving ... I like that ;) Plus, I've never been good with a normal brush ...

Me and my low-tech ballpoint :)

This is just a sketch for a character idea. I figure the Olympian gods are still around. They were the superheroes/villains of their time. Most have fallen in combat against one another, but there are a few that still exist.

After considering Hephaestus, the god of the forge, my first thought was to make him a head of a company that makes missiles (The ultimate fire!). But I kept coming back to him as a sort of lone workman, not a company man. So here he is with a slight goth twist to his look. First Draft.

I'm thinking that hole at the center of his outfit should actually be a hole, where a black fire burns. maybe next draft.

These are the designs I did for the four active players in my campaign.

The team leader is Captain Washington , a flying brick. A "professional superhero", the Captain has a public identity and is considering a run for public office. Both paties are courting him, and he's very popular with the people.

His lieutenant is Red Racer, a former Olympic track & field athelete who discovered she was a latent mutant when a scandal led to mandatory testing. She was drummed out of the sport, fell on hard times, and ended up with VIPER (who used an experimental process to activate her latent genes, giving her speedster powers). She was reformed by the Captain, and now is his most loyal supporter.

Doctor Dyad is a self-trained mentalist and one of the world's foremost psychoanalysts. While very powerful, he's an utter coward in the face of a physical threat. He serves as the teams counselor.

Uh...turns out he wasn't scanned in. Imagine a blue Hawkeye without the winged face mask, and you've got it. His name is Trickshot, and he's a Super-Archer. He got into the hero game after he rescued a whole bunch of people from a burning building, then got trapped in it himself, then got saved by CW, then spent several months in intensive care (horribly burned) stewing over the fact that Washington got all the credit for his heroism while he got a heap of medical bills. After he recovered, he built some trick arrows and hunted down the Captain, defeated him, and then demanded a spot on the team. While he is a hero, he's a bit more interested in upstaging the Captain than anything else. They have a rather one-sided rivalry thing going on.

I like including inset pictures, and "casting" the characters. Captain Washington is actually miscast in that picture, it's suppossed to be J. August Richards (who played Gun on Angel). Red Racer is singer Nelly Furtado, and Dr. Dyad is Ben Kingsley. Trickshot hasn't been cast yet, were looking for a Ben Affleck type, but not so lame.

Olympian #2: Aprhodite.

Again, I plan to do something that looks vaguley more...superheroey. But this is the preliminary idea in my update of the Greek gods who still live to this day.

Beauty is a burden, pageant contestants claim. Of course we all roll our eyes. But for the most beautiful woman who ever lived, beauty is a curse. Even covered head to toe in clothing as she has done for the past few hundred years, people are still intrigued by her graceful movements, and intrigued by just what is hidden behind all that cloth. She is, however, condemned to wear it all when it public, else there be riots in the streets, and sudden heart attacks.

Yes it is.

For this one I didn't want to go stereotypical T&A, as aphrodite would likely inspire. I wanted someone who in thousands of years hasn't come to grips with the effects her beauty has on the average person.

Also, it would be impossible for me to draw someone impossibly beautiful. This way you've got to fill in the blanks yourself :) The imagination is always better.

I'm much better at drawing pics of characters that already have a picture done, because I am a 'visual' artist. If I see it, I can draw it.

So Abyss was tough for me since I had to design the villain's look from scratch. I tossed out a total of four design concepts before keeping the fifth one (which I posted here).

Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt. Since Athena's death back in the early part of the last century, Artemis is the only one who could stand head to head with Ares in combat, but they have different enough goals that they never clash. While he forges war, she crosses the globe in search of newer, bigger, tougher things to test in single combat.

She lost an arm back in the 1800's while battling some kind of sea serpent. It wasn't until she lost another hand in the 1960's while hunting the most dangerous game (supervillains) that she sought out and gained the assistnace of a famed cyberneticist. Despite her mechanical parts, she still prefers the old ways, eschewing guns for bows.

I'd guess that at least a third of the links don't work right now. But things are slowly improving, and the games are definitely still active. If you're still interested in doing those characters, you should contact the art director there (artboss@globalguardians.com). There's definitely a huge need there for artists for PCs and NPCs. Well, I wasn't going to post this one since it's not really superheroic-looking, but when has that stopped me?

This is Ares, God of War. My first version had him as a general but I think he's more interesting as an everyman soldier in the thick of modern warfare. Obviously I mimicked a photo for this (as is often my custom). Since Athena died a few years back, war has become more savage, less clear-cut in ideals.

I often look at photos. Especially if something bugs me about what I'm drawing.

"The persepective on her arm looks funny, how do I make it not look like her arm is 18" long?"... That kind of thing.

Faces I will often be looking at a picture even if it is nothing like what I'm drawing. Reason: If I don't I start doing things like putting the eyes too far apart. It's a proportion issue I can't explain. My head goes crazy without a basic guide. Once I've got the positioning down I'm better off and can run with it.

That last one I've often wondered if there was some kind of disorder associated with it. I mean, I'm 35 and this still happens after thousands of drawings.

No, not at all. I look at models when I draw, too, because I am a visual artist. I can draw faces and bodies without a model, but then I tend to fall into my own style and that's not a style I prefer.

The only reason I asked is because that pic reminded me of another pic in a clothing ad I saw recently. No biggie, I was just curious to see if someone else used that method, too. :D

Keep up the awesome work!

"Her name is Dancing Star, she dances her way through life and has control of star like bursts of energy."

Wanted an official costume for the organization the PCs in my game belong to, and I wanted it to look a little 'villianous,' but not too much so.

Found an old folder with a bunch of old character sheets in it. I scanned some of the pictures (barely put a dent into it) but thought I'd share some. All this stuff is late 80's to early 90's work. Anyway... on with the old school show.

Basically he had a variety of "forms" that had powers themed on chess pieces.

Dragonstar
Green Lantern clone. The uniform is based on one of the various LSH reboots and this character was later developed into Long in that campaign setting I was working on for ages.

Deathstar
Kind of like Dragonstar's Sinestro. One of his hands was severed and he uses his power ring to replace it.

Originally the "Star Rings" were supposed to be one for each of the basic spectrum. We never got that far with it.

Dread!

Kind of a Doctor Doom fellow. Not only was he a genius with top end powered armor, but he had a few nasty extras... like deadly bio-warfare weapons.

Pretty much a Firestorm clone.

Psilord

One of the founding 4 of a major supervillain group. Basically a mentalist in powered armor (he uses his mental powers to force scientists to make stuff for him).

The Scarlet Swordsman

Also extra old school. He could create a ghost sword, of sorts, which was devastating to inorganic matter and generated immense systems hock to living things.
