Perception followup

So, if my character is blinded, he'll need to make a hearing perception roll. So, if I spend 1/2 perceiving, does a successful roll to help conteract my blindness last until my next phase, or only for that segment? And shouldn't I have to make a perception roll vs. each attacker? I'm more interested on the defensive end, than blind attacking.

It applies until the character’s next Phase. As specified in the rulebook (5E 226-27, 283), the character does have to make a roll for each attacker, if he wants the improved OCV/DCV against them -- "[a]gainst all other targets he is affected by the worse modifiers."
