View Full Version : Problem with V2.30 (not) exporting images

With the 2.30 interim build, character images don't seem to show up in exports, even with the default HTML template. The logo shows up fine, but the character image space is blank, even though the file is in the right place. Looking at the generated HTML itself, the tags for including the image are missing entirely. Has anyone else had this problem?

Works fine on my end. Make sure that you have the image assigned to the character (on the basic info tab) before you run the export.

Also make sure that you are using an export template that includes an image....some don't.

Thanks for that. I had done both of those, and at one point several versions ago, it was working fine. I'll have to play with it some more when I get home.
Thanks again,

I've tracked this down to packaged character files. The images display fine in exports if they're not packaged, but once they're packaged, they no longer display.

Hi Dan,
May I ask if you've had a chance to look at this one yet? I don't mean to push at all; it's just that you're usually so fast at fixing problems that I'm wondering whether this one is so complicated that it may take some time or perhaps it was just overlooked. :)
Thanks,
Daryl

The problem is that it's working fine when I try it.
If I open up a hdz file that has an image assigned and preview it using the default character sheet, the image is inserted just fine.
If I export using the same template, I am prompted to save the image file. Assuming that I save the image file to the same directory that I save the export, it (again) works just fine.

OK, I didn't realize you'd tried HDZ files too. It's hard to fix something if you can't reproduce it. :) It fails reliably on my system. I do have access to a couple of others I can try it on, so I'll see if I can narrow it down further (or maybe solve my problem myself, if possible).

I've found out more about this, but I'll post it in a new thread, as it involves several other issues too.
