In devil may cry 2, Dante uses a move that throws an enemy strait up into the air using his sword, how could i write that up in champions?

I'm not familiar with Devil My Cry 2, but it sound like any other Martial Throw. You can just use it with a sword instead of, or in addition to unarmed.

Or if it is a super-martial-art type thing, you can build a hand attack, or killing attack, with flight, usable on others, up only... linked to it.

He does that in the original DMC as well.

There is a martial maneuver in the UMA called Shove that gives a STR bonus for shoving an opponent backward. It is a unique maneuver in that it doesn't really have a special element for it. It allows the Martial Artist to push the opponent back 1" for every 10 STR in the maneuver (after adding the Characters STR and the maneuver STR bonus). Simply use that and call it High Time and state that it always pushes opponents up instead of back.

Using this maneuver within a Sweep or Multiple Power Attack will allow you to mimick some of Dante's more devastating moves from the game.

Sweep the Push maneuer..once to push up, then a second time to push down. This mimicks Dante's Hight Time, Slam down combo.

Sweep with Push, then two quick strikes (likely Fast Strikes) then end with another Push maneuver (-6 OCV!) this mimicks Dantes combo from DMC2 where he High Time's then strikes the enemy three times in the air, the last time blowing the enemy away in mid-air...

Whenever I recreate video game maneuvers, I usually keep is simple. If the effect if High Time is that the opponent flies into the air, then it's nothing more than a throw aimed upward (damage upon landing). If you hit him while he's up there (any number of times) and sends him flying away, you can simply buy a HA or EB No Range (2d6 instead of 3d6 from KB), possibly with x2 KB.

Personally, I've never found the Shove maneuver very useful. About the only use for it I can see is if you need to put an opponent a hex or two back and don't have time or CV to Grab and Throw.

Shove really only becoems real useful in certain situations.

Terrain situations like fighting on a ledge, or in a small hallway, where moving the opponent to a spot you want them helps your strategic position is one (like blocksing a doorway). It is REALLY useful if you have some good planned maneuvers based on putting the enemy where your teammate will then KNOW they will be.

I once had a telikinetic villain with Lighting Calculator, tactics and leadership. His lackeys were all trained in Aikido, and he called out certain fighting codes like a quarterback making a football play. I actually had a chart in case anyone questioned it and thought I was making it up on the fly (although I could have anyway, but I was having fun with it).

He would hide, and use his TK to place large heavy objects in the air above the battlefield. As they were placed and falling, he woudl call codes to his men in ear radios, each code telling them how far to move and where to place their opponents for maximum effect. (think I wrote about this in Haymaker actually). So you might be fighting the thig, next thing you know he steps aside and throws you, and a dumpster comes immediately crashing down on you.

Of course, as soon as someone jammed the radios it was real messy, real fast. Never did get to show back up with that girl with mindlinking for his team he went and recruited for the rematch.

I'd say it's a martial throw, sword-element, which the player generally uses to throw things straight up because it's in-character. If you're gonna shoot stuff while it's up there, make an EB or something linked to it, or if you GM lets you, just do it like a multiple power attack.
