I don't actually play in campaigns these days...no time, BUT I had this idea for a power in a Fantasy/Paranormal campaign.

The caster would take a part of his "Spirit Self" (think Astral Form or Kirlian Aura Energy), "ignite" it and throw it.
The Real World damage would be minimal, if any.

Obviously we've this would be an EGO based attack with a Side effect drain (since the caster's Spirit Self would heal.)

But I'm not sure WHAT to drain.

I realize this is a GM call, But I'd love to get a number of opinions on this.

This hasn't come up in any of games but if it does I will problely use some combination of EGO and PRE.

A person's "spitit self" would be a highly personal thing, and most likely prone to fluctuate. I'd say throw a +1/4 Variable Effect so it can Drain any one Primary Characteristic (except COM) at a time. The Characteristic Drained would depend upon the mindset of the attacker and how he feels about his target (this whouldn't be a Limitation though, players should be able to pick these to suit them).

As much as Body and EGo sound semi-appropriate I think STun is still more appropriate as to which stat to drain; as throwing his sprit should be draining physically, and by using STun one will be closer to unconcsiousness. Once the character has thrown a fixed amount he's out of power/ unconcisous as his body/soul heals.

I'd say and END Reserve myself.
But assuming Osprey is thinking of a low-powered character (or a complete beginner, who doesn't realize the danger he's putting himself in) for a Horror HERO type game, I'd have the Drain affect CON. The penalties for having to deal with a negative CON should cover the weakness that I'm assuming Osprey feels the character should have to experience.

Did I lose you guy the way I lost me in that last sentance?

Raven thought of something I hadn't.
Using a variant of the SPFX as an advantage of variable effect drain! (I was thinking of a straight blast).
This shows how new I am to Horror campaigns, since I intended this as a "spiritual" attack that would do no body, I should have seen possibilities besides "STUN only EB"
