Variable NND

Can you have a NND where the defense varies? For example, a wand of wonder type of weapon where the defense is on a dr:

1 Power defense
2 Mental defense
3 Life support
4 Flash defense
5 Lack of Weakness
6 ED force field or force wall

No. That would be extremely unbalancing, and probably violate the guideline against normally not allowing characters to have more than one NND (see 5E 171 for discussion). It would be more balanced to have a VPP, Only For NNDs (-1 1/2), No Conscious Control (-1) – but even that should require careful GM review and evaluation. However, given the randomness of what you describe, I can see where some GMs might allow it if they felt they could control it.
