Or NoVa, Maryland, wherever people can make it into DC. Trying to get a HERO group together. Setting is original, low-tech futuristic. Would meet once a week, anyone is welcome!

This is probably a long shot, but if you're willing to come out to Fairfax County, you might get a whole group (though I'm afraid few of us have time to game every week).

Even if you find this reply utterly uninteresting, would you mind providing some more information about the game just to satisfy my curiousity?

I'm also in the DC area. I'm pretty new to it so I don't exactly know where Fairfax county is although I believe I've driven by/through it a couple times. Please tell me some more about both your campaigns and their settings. I'm interested in playing.

The setting is far future, swashbuckling space smuggling/piracy/adventure. Hoping to recreate high-seas maneuvers in space. 'Bout half and half rolling and roleing. I'm working on the planet the campaign starts on- character design will be flexible within certain starting parameters. I'm very open to player input... if I have players :)

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding players- I have 2 and one is a maybe. This makes me a little hesitant to continue fleshing out the setting.

And I'm new to town too. This city isn't much fun; there are 2 comic book shops in the phone book, and one has closed shop. Before this I was in Austin, where there's a comic book shop on every block.

There are some in Virginia. I took a trip to the Game Parlor in Woodbridge, VA where I picked up a copy of the Turakian Age. It's a really cool gaming shop, although they didn't have many comic books if that's what you're looking for. I emailed the sales guy who said he had lots of Hero books, but when I was there, all I saw was the Turakian Age in the new items section. If there was a section with Hero stuff, I could have missed it though - I didn't stay long. Anyways, here's the website if you're interested

I think our current GM will be wrapping up his game relatively soon (though that could be a month or more at the rate we meet). I will then run the second adventure in my gritty 1930's occult game with elements of pulp and horror.

As for game and comic stores, Big Planet Comics in Vienna is my favorite (and I think they have a sister store in Bethesda), and the Game Parlor in Chantilly carries a pretty good selection of Hero products (as I would imagine their Woodbridge store does as well). Incidentally, Vienna, Chantilly, and my group's regular meeting place are in Fairfax County (though I live in Loudoun County myself).
