Includes every monster in the SRD? Yeah, that makes for a good tight storyline...
Not a bad gimmick, I suppose, though.

Only 100 Maps... That can't be the world's largest dungeon. Only the world's largest published dungeon.

I'd buy this. That is, if I had an extra hundred dollars after rent, food, bills, hookers, crack...

Well, at around 1000 pages - hardback! - that's almost 3 FRed's put together. So $100 sounds about right.
I know of many, many, many a time I've gone into a book store and dropped $200-$300 dollars without batting an eye, and I have gaming friends who do the same with some regularity, so spending $100 for a book isn't TOTALLY out of the question. (I'm not going to rush out and buy it or anything; it's not really something that interests me. But I do think there's a market for high-end RPG products out there.)

It would be good if they released it in PDF format, because that could drastically reduce the price.
The thing with this book is that the dungeons levels could all be lifted and transplanted easily, but still a hundred american is like 180-200 dollars NZ+ postage and packaging, and that would weigh a ton. So it would retal for about $260 NZ atleast.

I want one.
I'm sure you could have a construction company build you one if you have several million dollars. Finding all the monsters may prove more difficult. Time to call Steve Erwin.

As some of you might know, I do freelance artwork for Hero as well as work full-time at AEG as a graphic designer. I'm in the process of wrapping this book up right now to send to the printers. I think the book will definitely be of interest to dungeon lovers. I've had a great time laying it out, designing the overall look, polishing the poster-sized maps, etc... I want to clarify some points, that keep getting mis-printed in magazine articles.
It is called "The World's Largest Dungeon" (One of the mags titled it "Ultimate Dungeon".)
It is 840 pages. Hardback.
1,600 encounters (not 15,000 as one article claimed)
It comes with 16 gorgeous 22"x17" maps. They cover a wall pretty handily.
Each region of the dungeon has a great theme that ties the region together, so it all makes sense. We designed each region to be able to be used almost as a stand-alone dungeon, in case a group didn't want to adventure in one dungeon for two years.
If people are interested, there's discussion threads on WLD at ENworld.
Now enough of this AEG plug, get back to your Hero games!

If everyone in a gaming group pitched in, it wouldn't seem so costly... and since they are all going to benefit (i.e. play the game), why not?
What a fun idea!

Sounds cool!
Now as soon as one of you fine herophiles buys it and convertes it for use with Fantasy Hero, let me know.:D

I ment the book.
On the other hand.. one of my gaming buddies has just completed his education as an enginer in tunnels and stuff. And I might be able to cut some overhead by hireing troll's and ogre's for minimum wage. (The bottom has really fallen out of the swordfodder-market). Offcourse it is going to cost a lot of mony to train them in modern urban tactics and in the use of firearms.

Check this out. This just proves that D20 is getting way outta control.
This reminds me of the 100 level dungeon TSR put out about 15 years or so ago for AD&D. However, I do think D20 is out of control, and detrimental. One of the things I used to like about RPGs is the different approach each took.. D&D used all the dice, some used only d6's, some d10's, some d100 (percentile). With the plethora of D20 games, it's become its own pseudo-genre. Stifles the imagination, in my opinion. Just as bad as "RPG" card games. But that's just me.
