I haven't been able to get into the chat room lately, so I went to the Sun site and downloaded the newest version of Java.
Now, however, when I try to enter the chat, I'm queried as to whether I want to d/l Java v 1.3.
Any ideas as to what I've screwed up, and how to fix it?

The only time the chat applet will prompt you to d/l Java is if it does not find a Java plugin of version 1.2 or better.
It's possible that during your install of the latest Java you disabled it as a plugin to your browser....if so, the fix is easy:
<ol>
<li>Go to your Control Panel (assuming Windoze)</li>
<li>Open up the "Java Plugin"</li>
<li>Make sure that your recent downloaded version (most likely 1.4.1_01) is selected as the default plugin</li>
<li>Make sure that your browser is selected (there should be a checkbox for it</li>
</ol>
That should be it.

Hi Gents,
My company has a product that uses Java heavily. We often have issues like this. If all else fails uninstall ALL versions of Java on your system then install the latest one from the Sun site. That works in most cases.
