Can't enter the chat room......bad instructions

I have followed the instuctions about how to go into a chat room to the letter w/no result. When I click to download a copy of Java Virtual Machine the link takes me to a general Java site that contains nothing that can help me. Any ideas? I am running OS X 10.3.1.

OSX is different due to the continued belligerence of Apple. You will need to get Apple's implementation of Java. I believe that http://www.apple.com/java is where you want to go for that.

What is your version of Java?
It should be 1.4.2
You should be able to upgrade Java by going to the Software Updater. (Under System Preferences)

The chat does act a bit wonky under previous Java versions, but I am running OS 10.2 with Java 1.4.2 and it works fine.
