Would it be legal to have an item, say magic ring or such. Go along, I'm assuming the ring would have to have teleport or like ability. But is this breaking any rule?

Technically, yes, since changing form means changing everything, given the point-based nature of the system. Like I said, it's probably just something to negotiate with your GM. In most cases I doubt anyone would mind at all if an important item in a Heroic campaign came over.
