due to a system crash, I had to reinstall HDv2 ( along with everything else).
Have downloaded the latest Update 2.34. Now when I start HD it will not update. Still @ version 2.0.
Any Ideas

You are either not saving the update into your install directory (typicaly C:\Program Files\HeroDesigner v2), or you are not calling it "update.jar"
There are notes on the update download page about WinZip renaming update.jar to update.jar.zip
You must replace the existing update.jar in your install directory with the downloaded copy in order for the update to have any effect.

I have saved it to the install directory, and I have overwritten (the first time) the existing Update.jar, with no luck, then removed it (the second time) and replaced it with the new update, (to make sure I was using the latest), still nothing.
Have checked the date (today, when I downloaded it) on the update.jar, and the size, 4,529 kb. in the install directory. So I know it's in the right place and updated.
Am going to try uninstalling it and starting from scratch again to see if maybe it's a bad install.

I can guarantee you with 100% certainty that you are doing one of the following:
1. Not naming update.jar properly.
2. Not saving update.jar into your install directory.
3. Not running the application with the default (installed) launcher.
4. Not downloading a valid copy of update.jar (i.e. you have a corrupted download)
The update process is EXTREMELY simple. If the update.jar file is present and valid, the splash screen image will be taken from it (along with most of the rest of the code).
If it is not present (or corrupted), then the splash screen image will be taken from HeroDesigner.jar and will show 2.02.
That's all there is to it.
