If a character has a 3-pnt CSL with Swords, and the power Missile Deflection defined as working through a sword (focus), can he apply the CSLs to improve his Deflection OCV? What about 5-pnt CSLs with HTH?

Also, can you clarify an implication of these two items from the FAQ:

Q: 5E 135 states that bonuses to the Missile Deflection roll are now purchased as 2 point Combat Skill Levels. Does this mean you can’t put Limitations on them unless you buy them as 5 point CSLs?

A: Yes.
------------------------------------
Q: Can a character place the 2-point bonuses with Missile Deflection & Reflection in a Power Framework?

A: With the GM’s permission, yes, he could put his Missile Deflection & Reflection bonuses in a Power Framework as part of a Missile Deflection & Reflection slot. If he does so, any Power Modifier applied to the slot (such as Range or Focus) applies to the bonuses as well.

If the player puts the CSLs with Missile Deflection in a Framework Slot that has limitations, don’t they need to be 5-pnt CSLs, not 2-pnt ones?

Thanks.

On the first question, no.

On the second question, consider it a specific exception to the general rule.
