Ok, I created this as a first draft to an idea I had, based loosely off Kos-Mos from Xeno-Saga

(Any suggestions on how to inprove it?)

Background: Honor Guard is a robotic creation of Proffessior Rocky Halt, Designed as a urban defensive device meant to protect civilians in times of unrest and in high crime area's, Honor Guard is the first of what was hoped to be a series of "sentinals' that would roam the streets, fighting crime and facing down powerful supervillians in order to protect normal humans from such dangers. Shortly after Honor Guard was activated it was put in with the local superhero team for testing.. During these tests Proffessor Halt disappeared, his current whereabouts are unknown and H.G. is very interested in what happened to its 'father.'


Notes: The Android does need to switch its CPU into 'maintenance mode' from time to time (Think of it as a virus test with Norton) which is akin to sleeping, however it only needs to do this once a week or so, and its sensors have a back up circut that activates the main CPU instantly if someone comes near (Light Sleep) I think most of the rest is pretty self explainitory

Overall, I'd say he looks pretty good. You may want to look at the following:

1) With only an 18 DEX, he is fairly easy to hit. He can counter that somewhat with his strong ranged combat, so he's probably okay as he stands.

2) 20 PD / 23 ED is a little on the light side. I would expect to see 24 to 28 in these values (2x campaign aveage damage class)

3) 5 speed is a good thing, but you may want to drop to 4 and spend some points on other things.

4) Don't neglect PRE & EGO. The mental defense is good, but it doesn't help you versus presence attacks. I'd see if there is a way to get to an 18 to 20 PRE. As it is, he really isn't much more shakeable than a normal guy. Of course, that may be what you want.

All in all, he's probably good to play as is. Happy Gaming.

Hey it's all good, baby. I like the 18 DEX and have no problems with the DEF, but it depends on the campaign. The PRE, however is too low, unless he was built to be a friendly looking 'BOT or is likely to take orders from humans, both of which are implied in the low PRE. If I saw a flying metal man, I would be a little impressed, but hey that's just me.

Overall though every power and skill fits with the concept, which is what I look for in a char. I don't know about the 1/2 lim on the EB, but why quibble.

As an aside, I love that 5th edition has used the convention of labelling all of the powers and groups of related skills. It makes everyone have a tighter conception when putting together a char as you name each power and power group.

Actualy, he's 'programed' to accept orders from any 'resonable' source (Aka, Super hero's, Police, Most civilians as long as thier not currently breaking the law) with out question (This isn't repersented in his disads..its kinda a zero point one) so a low Pre would kinda make sense..
All in all, he's probably good to play as is. Happy Gaming.

I was thinking of writing the whole group of player characters up from that game as a superteam. Shion was a technomancer "Open Ether Circuit!"
Chaos was an "angel"
Ziggy and KOS MOS I pretty much would keep as is.
MOMO is a curious creation. An artificial Sorceress. JR is a 1000 year old "boy who ages one year for every hundred" (got the idea from Child of the first VIPER Book) or a clone of a long lost hero who was released "too soon", I hadn't decided. I'd probably put
Virgil in the group and possible Allen as a support member.

Ok I have changed Honor Guard just a bit, I increased his Pre as was suggested by several people, tweeked up his PD/ED just a little. And changed one Disadvantage - He is now concidered to have both Human and Machine Mind classes so He can be effected by mental powers that effect either, His Mental Defence only works against "human Class' mind powers so if he runs against someone how can control machines....He's toast.

As an admirer of Xenosaga, as well as robots, I find your character to be pretty neat. He seems to be more or less complete, although his hand to hand skill isn't the greatest. A 6 OCV is okay for melee until you improve him a bit.
