View Full Version : For Dave and/or the Authors – Some errors in DH#7

Hi,

I think I’ve found a few errors in DH#7, and was wondering if Dave or the article authors concur, or can tell me why I’m mistaken.

I took my comments on Object Creation directly to Steve:
http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2082

And Mr. Teriaca already noted the incorrect cost listed for the Kitsune Feint:
http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=321
(side note, I thought his Kenjutsu article was one of the best ever in DH).

On to my other observations:

Your Horoscope For: Pisces page 35. The sub floor plans for the main floor lists ‘Stern’ in the front and the back. Also, while it notes the Bridge ceiling is 4”, there is no notation for other ceilings. I assume they are between 1” and 1.3”.

Making the Most of Special Effects page 45. The Interceptor Beam description says that it can Missile Deflect Area Effect and Explosion attacks. This is against the rules, except in very specific circumstances. Though the ability WOULD make sense for this power. Perhaps Missile Deflection needs a new Adder, “Can deflect AoE and Explosion attacks”. Maybe a +10 adder? For Missile Deflections that are more of a ‘shield’ one can hide behind.

Mei Li Jing Shen page 59. Her Hair Whip should be 4d6 HKA with STR, not 3d6+1. Base 2d6 HKA, 8 STR, +22 STR with Hair. A 2d6 HKA goes to 4d6 with 30 STR. Unless her basic 8 STR can’t be used to add to the Hair Whip, only her +22 STR with Hair. But there is nothing in the article to indicate this would be the case (other than the math would work then for 3d6+1). :)

Actually, if you look closely, forward the vessel is labeled 'Stem'.

My notes have the ceiling as 1.5" (which I should've noted in the article... sorry).

Thanks for the catches, James. I'll get a revised edition to Ben, and post here when it's ready for re-download. The way that DH is set up, once you purchase an issue, you can download it as many times as you want, so downloading the revised edition won't cost anything extra to anyone.

On the Stem/Stern thing, I probably should've made those uppercase, so that the distinction was more obvious.

DOH !! Even after reading this I still had to look twice. :o

Hmm, that's almost 10 feet. Aren't 10' ceilings a little generous for a sub? I've always been under the impression that subs were rather cramped, but I'm no expert.

PS - Not trying to pick on you, I've enjoyed the Horoscope articles, and plan to run the Aquarius adventure. Guess I'm just a sticker for details.

While you're revising DH#7, Dave, would it be feasable to expand the Vehicle Life Support table horizontally (like, into the sidebar column or something) to make it more readable? :)

No worries... I usually just go with 1.5" for the sake of simplicity, but in this case I think maybe you're right and the additional level of detail would've been a good idea.

Ps. I'm glad you're enjoying the articles; If you have the time to post, I'd love to hear how the adventure turns out.
