View Full Version : Another online USPD question

OK, look, I don't want to seem to be whining or anything. I know the folx at Hero Games have to put writing books as the first priority, so they can eat, keep a roof over their heads, win awards (conga rats!), etc.

The online USPD is, obviously, not high on the list of priorities. OTOH, it has been nine months since it was last updated. I've submitted about a dozen ideas so far, I've got 3 or 4 times as many ideas half-way written. So I hope I'll be excused a moment of what some might call selfishness and ask:

When's the online USPD next going to be updated?!??

Thank you one and all for your forebearance. We now return you to your regularly scheduled mayhem. ;-)

You've already touched on the issue, I think, Basil. The DoJ team is incredibly busy trying to get out new material (see the list of upcoming items). They have several books in several genres, each of which has at least one person thinking it's the most important thing.

Start a thread in Champions (or Hero System) and call it "Potential USPD Additions". Then, when the boys at DoJ do find the time to update the online version, they'll have a ready-made resource to look at.

EDIT: As an example, Steve admits to pulling many, many example of Super Skills for the Dark Champions game from a thread of the same name. So yeah, this method does work, and is ultimately appreciated by a great many folk.

Otherwise, nothing personal, but I'd rather you wait for an updated online USPD than me wait for DEMON or Vibora Bay.

YMMV, of course. :)

I used to run something called the Unofficial Super Powers Database on the Guardians site, a place to house all those rejected entries that never made it into the Online database.

I suppose I could start that up again.

hen's the online USPD next going to be updated?!??

Well, first off, until recently I didn't really have enough to merit doing an update. ;) Your recent contributions, Basil, have given me enough, together with my own ideas, to work with.

That being said, the Online USPD is a secondary priority to keeping the publication schedule going. It's been months since I had the time to take some "administrative days" to catch up with chores like this, and I don't anticipate finding any until after 5ER and VB, at the very least, are put to bed. But have no fear! I'll update the Online USPD as soon as I can. :hex:

I'd better get truckin' and send in what I have, then.... ;)

Considering there's two places with templates for submissions directly to Herogames, and a call for submissions ditto, it's my impression Herogames would rather we emailed in our submissions. ICBW.

Nothing personal, but I'd put a number of other books in the works before either of those. YMMV, and I agree with the principle. ;-)

Well, hard to claim something is rejected, when Steve hasn't yet gotten to looking at it. ;-)

I had hopes this was part of it, but didn't dare say anything. ;-)

Yay!! OK, that's the best I could reasonably hope for. As I said, I understand the books come first. I wsa just wondering -- I should say, fearing -- that nine months of nothing meant the whole project had been quietly dropped. I'm glad to see that fear was false.

Which, of course, means I now have to go and write up all my ideas.
/me sighs and glowers at the stack of notes, which is chortling at him.

I know that. I was referring not to rejected powers in general, but to my submissions in particular.
