Hi all,

When should we expect to see Arcane Adversaries in our FLGS? I checked the Friday postings for the last few weeks and didn't see any news. The products page lists August 2004 as the release month.

Thanks.

Tim

We're waiting for a confirmation date from the printer (a new one, so we apparently don't have all the bugs quite worked out yet.) Apparently it's possible we'll get the book on Friday the 3rd, but odds are better for Tuesday the 7th, after Labor Day. So it'll start showing up in stores a week or two after that. The original target date was yesterday, so it looks like about a week late. dw

That is the fine, fine work of Florida Art Mafia member, Andy Cremeans.

Just wanted to make sure you send out the right shout out.

Any update on this? It is still not available at any of the online store I frequent. How soon before DEMON? Maybe I will wait and save a shiping charge by getting them together.

My local game store is usually among the first to get it and there was nothing as of yesterday, so I imagine we're still looking at "any day now".

Pestered the hell out of my local game store (He is a great guy. I bet he is pretty tired of me by now). It is coming today.

I got my personal copies yesterday, and I usually get them after most distributors and stores, for whatever that's worth.

Well, we're using a new printer located in Kansas, so we're still figuring out how everything works with them. AFAIK, the distributors should all have gotten theirs, Steve's is early because it started closer to him than usual, and the stores should be receiving them this week or early next at the latest. dw

Oh, and DEMON should go out early next week. I'm betting Tuesday, could be a day on either side. dw

I just picked mine up in St. Paul.

Looks pretty darn good overall. The large ratio of groups to solo villians and the nature of some of the groups give Arcane Adversaries more of a "Dark Conspiracy" vibe than CKC's "Wild West Gunslingers" approach with lots of lone wolves.

The Circle of the Scarlet moon is a good, if generic, secret cabal. They have enough power to pull off mystic plots, but not enough that you wonder why Witchcraft is still alive.

I noted, but have not yet read, the writups on Witchcraft & Talisman's parents.

The Vandoleers (sp?) are a great "foul ancestors" group to wedge into a character's background. Somehow I kept mentally comparing them to The Saiettas from 4th Edition's Underworld Enemies. They suffer a bit in comparison (they just aren't as ruthless or depraved), but are probably better suited to a 4 color mystic campaign.

Demonologist is back in all his badness, but Archimango is not. Probably a good choice since we don't need two undead sorcerers and Takofanes easily wins the style contest.
The rest of the Devil's advocates are suitably evil and debased, but I have to admit missing Brother Bone. He probably wasn't a good fit for the team, but he had alot of style.

Lamplighter has lost none of his vileness, and while he no longer is a dead wringer for Patrick Steward, you can still see the resemblence.

HellRider. His powers are the same, but his deal with the Devil has been slightly altered to evoke more hard choices on the part of the heroes. Do they let him kill men who may or may not deserve it, or do they condem him to hell?

There is alot more, but I am still digesting.

Got mine here in CA. They arrived in stores yesterday.

I like the old method! Where I got them a day or two before everyone else and a week before steve :)

So Arcane Adversaries and Demon are both out in stores now?

Don't know how many stores have Demon yet- as predicted, it left the printer for distros on Tuesday, so the earliest stores should have it by the beginning of next week. We got ours yesterday... dw

Since the local vendor doesn't even have AA in yet, looks like as soon as DEMON goes up for sale on the online store, I'll be doing another order from there.

DEMON will be up in the Online Store on October 22.

Alrighty, thanks for the response. I'll just have to toss Demon into the mix in episode 3 of my new campaign instead of episode 2.
