A fellow poster makes a request to stop creating a certain kind of thread.
His reasons seem fairly valid, but he is just one poster of many.

I enjoy the threads, but as stated in that particular thread, I will stop.

Maybe start posting "What Would Your GM Do?" threads? :sneaky:
"You tell your GM your character is buying X ability, which is completely against their conception, and you don't care what they think about it. Oh, and you don't have the points for it, but 'I'll just make it up with XP later'."

Name and Shame, Ka, Name and Shame.
I made the point so you can name me.
Anyone posting new WWYCD threads gets thrown naked into the RNC bear pit. You have been warned.

Really and truly just teasing, death tribble. :D
I have ranted before about useless threads, that seem to just clog things up for people who want to ask questions or discuss serious topics.
On the other hand, I eventually figured out that the boards are for the users, and if they like those threads enough to keep them alive, I guess they are "legitimate".
So I wasn't really trying to bait you, or to mock your concern.
Just trying to bring a little more light to the topic, without really intending to push any one view of it.

This same thing came up last time, WWYCD threads popped up, became popular for a while, flooded things in fact, then soemone made a poll asking for a stop to it. The winning vote was , IIRC, 'cut down on it for a bit', they were fine, but not so many that it bumped all other threads off.
That's about how I feel about them. I like them, but a break or at least slow down is probably in order. These things go in spats, not so long ago it was the "Iron VS Silver Age" swarm.

I would go with the second option. Considering that I only post an occasional new one, anyway. . .

Well, I never create them.
I think that anything which people are so interested in, and that fits the board, should not be abolished lightly, however.

They wouldn't be getting so many responses if people didn't like them. I suppose they have been a little excessive over the last few days, though.

I think trying to reserve for "really good one" is the best approach, however, as someone who doesn't care for the WWYCD threads (I'll explain in a moment), I have no problem with their quantity. I can just skip through them quickly, no big.
FYI, the reason I don't care for them is simply that characters tend to be fairly predictable, so after having read through the first flurry, I felt all my answers would be predictable, and others tended to be that way as well. There's nothing wrong with that (it's just consistency, after all), but it does make for tedious reading/writing after a bit.

I think I'd post a poll over the issue to see what everybody thinks about it. :snicker:
