Closed Circuit Radio example...

Hi!

It just dawned on me that the Closed Circuit radio (an example using Mind Link) is for one person... It states up to 8 minds may be contacted, but anyone you wish to contact, would also have to pay the points for the device, correct?

Yes, the version in FREd requires that each character pay the 10 points for the Closed Radio Link. That is a little too expensive for a radio, IMO.

This really stems back to a flaw in Mind Link though. The problem with Mind Link is that if you are a member of a telepathic race you cannot communicate with each other on a grand scale. No assemblies, for example, and heaven forbid a telepathic race should have a large family get-together. They would need to take turns passing information back and forth. :)

Instead of paying for additional people to communicate with, Mind Link should just have an additional adder: for +5 you can communicate with however many people you want at the same time. That way it can be used for something besides small groups.
