the site has been processing my credit card for about 30 minutes now. I haven't touched it since I hit submit. Should I just leave it sit? Is this normal? It hasn't happened to me before. I'm going to just let it go til I get a reply telling me otherwise.

I hit cancel, saw that everything is still in my cart (i'm assuming that means it didn't ship and/or charge) so I tried again. Same Result. After I hit submit, the blue bar at the bottom of my IE gets about 40% across and just stays there. Maybe i'll try again in a bit.... any help would be appreciated.

Our records don't show any processed order, so your credit card hasn't been billed.

As for your issues, have you been able to order online from us before?

Yes, I have ordered from herogames online twice before, with no problems like this. I'm going to try it again, I'll report back here with my results.

Edit: WOrked fine that time. Weirdness.

Ive had this issue a few times ordering from herogames. It seems to be intermittent, so I usually just cancel and come back to it later.

Well....here's what I know:

Over the past month, we've been having some problems on the server (looking like some odd config issues). These have amounted to our application server (Resin) freezing up about 2 times a day. When this happens, there is about 5 minutes (max) during which time the server doesn't respond, then an automated process we have installed restarts the app server and everything goes back to normal. It should be noted that this does not sound like the problem, as the restart would immediately cause your browser to give a "connection lost" or "no data" error message.

The main thing that I can see which would cause your browser to just sit there and wait would be the credit card processing server not responding. The online store uses Verisign. The way the code is setup, it will connect into versign once you click the final "submit" button and send through the charge request. It then waits for a response. If verisign takes forever sending back that response, then you may hang waiting for the confirmation page.

Thankfully, verisign would appear to be setup in such a way that they won't process the charge until the full transaction is completed with the server....and the server is setup so that the order will not be processed until the confirmation is received from verisign, so it's a temporary inconvenience.

Hopefully verisign will fix whatever problems they're having on their end and all of this will become a thing of the past. If not, just keep me posted on when you have problems and I'll pester verisign as needed.
