Whats the name of the character that looks like a Moon Knight inspired character, except with metal appliances and a big bird head on his hood.

It must be Nighthawk, the Duck-Headed Wonder.

Two of the players in my campaign postulate that there is a reason Nighthawk wears that ridiculous, duck-resembling headgear. Simply put, it makes him a lot more powerful than people think, though he keeps that a secret - it's so secret it wasn't even included in his character write-up in CHAMPIONS. In fact, it's so secret that even *he* doesn't know it.
You see, that dumb-ass hat of his is secretly the Duck Crown of Krim... the mightiest of all the crowns, surpassing even the dread Dragon Crown worn by Takofanes.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Nighthawk is really the unconscious power behind both the Crowns of Krim and Takofanes. All his unconscious, evil impulses get expressed through those other villains.
So, anytime Takofanes or Dark Seraph does something awful in your campaign, ultimately it can be blamed on Nighthawk and his hat.
Really.

His real name is NightHawk. Several of us, myself included, refer to him as NightDuck thanks to the headgear. In some ways he's the new Seeker -- especially in the UNTIL Superpowers Database.

You mean THIS guy, right?

Yeah, that's Nighthawk. However, I feel compelled to note that his headgear does *not* look like a duck's bill; it's too pointed. However, it's too long to be a hawk's beak. My best guess is that it's more like a crow or raven's beak.
Nighthawk needs some beak work done.

That depends on which illustration you refer to, or which artist's interpretation you use. There are some where he has a pronounced duck-like appearance, others where he looks more like a stork, even some where the headpiece does somewhat resemble a hawk.

Point taken ... I was referring to the pic above (and thus, the one in Champions U), which looks very crowlike to me.

Best illo of Nighthawk I've yet seen is on the cover of Gadgets and Gear. The beak is much smaller, and the headgear (and costume in general) looks quite impressive and not at all comical.

yeah that would be the guy. The tin foil bird helmet guy. I was wondering because I saw him flash up their for a second when the images flipped.
The reason I asked is that I'm writing the back ground for a new super universe im going to use if I can ever find a champions group. I'm trying to make characters who might have traits that people will be familiar with from other hero's but are differant enough that people dont shout clone.
Another thing im trying to do is keep my characters as far away from published Superhero game characters as I can. This is because I want to place the entire thing up on the net when I get a good portion of it done.

Looking at some of the pics, Nighthawk is just begging for the "Amusing Costume" distinctive feature, and maybe "Reputation: The Duck-Knight Avenger."

I don't think Seeker ended up in quite such embarrassing situations as Nighthawk does in the USPD...

True, but MOST of the time, he wasen't beaten to unconsenesses/to an inch of his life...most of the time, the vilian excapes and is placed on "the list".
Of course, "the list" must be extremly long by now, and includes "people who call me NightDuck (and vareous difrent vareations)" on it by now.

You've guys have got it all wrong. The duck hat is about lulling the enemy into a false sense of security. "Lookit that hat! We can commit any crime we want." Bammo!
