I'm going to be a guest at MACE, a gaming con in High Point, NC on November 12-14. I'll be doing a panel and running a game (not sure what yet, but something HERO System, obviously). If enough Hero fans are attending, perhaps we could arrange a "Hero Dinner" or something of the sort, as was done at NukeCon.

Alice and I had a wedding we had to go to last weekend. I might be able to pull this off as it is only a two hour drive. I'll need to check with my wife first.

Steve, is there a web site (or email address) to get more information on this con? (Registration, cost, directions?)

I, too am only an hour away, and would like to go if possible.
Thank you!

I appreciate Steve mentioning MACE on the message board. I am the con-manager for MACE and welcome any questions about the con. I am glad to see that there are several HERO fans in the area. I hope to see you all in November. For more info on MACE, please visit the website. We want to utilize Steve as much as possible. Let me know what you would like to see him do HERO games wise and I will talk to him about it. The web address is http://www.justusproductions.com or email me at justusprod@aol.com

Woo-Hoo!!!!
I'm pre-registered for Steve's game!!!

Any news on what you're running Steve?
(Not that it matters much; it's HERO, you're running and I'm playing!)

Gonna be a fun time that Saturday. :)

I've been so busy fussing around with Hudson City that I haven't had too much time to plan -- and unfortunately I've run most of my stock "con games" at MACE already, so I've got to find something new! Some possibilities include:

--"Artifacts Of Malice," a Champions adventure featuring Zorran the Artificer
--a Dark Champions adventure with a lot of investigation
--"Lycanthrope House," a (hopefully) humorous Fantasy take on college movies like ANIMAL HOUSE and REVENGE OF THE NERDS

The first two I've run recently, but haven't yet worked all the kinks out to my satisfaction. The third I ran long ago, and would probably need to rework (assuming I could even find my old notes!). And who knows? Maybe I'll come up with an even better idea sometime in the next couple of days.

In the end, though, it's all going to come down to how much prep time I can squeeze out next week. But at the very least I'll have my bound printout of 5ER to show. :hex:

Speaking of 5ER, do you expect to have copies for sale?
I'm hoping to acquire my very first autographed HERO book! :)

All 3 adventures sound like fun. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what you come up with.
Boy, is this gonna be a long week-and-a-half.

No, for two reasons:

1. I don't sell things at MACE. I just attend as a guest; Hero doesn't have a booth there or anything.

2. It's doubtful that I'll have my copies by then. Otherwise I'd've said "I'll have a copy of 5ER to show" -- instead, I'll probably just have my bound manuscript to show.

OTOH, if the book is available to retailers by then, it's possible someone in the Dealer's Room will have it.

Okay, I guess I'll just have to get you to autograph my copy of Fred, instead (and Fantasy Hero, and Dark Champions). :)

Since you don't expect to have 5ER with you, I'll just get it from my FLGS; I know the owner has an order to get it ASAP. (Not that I'm impatient for it or anything, you understand.)

Enough bugging you; I'll let you get back to work.

Sigh. 11 days and counting.....

I'll be glad to autograph whatever books you like. Heck, I'll even autograph books I didn't write! ;)
