I'd really like the able to define modifier "packages". So if you have sets of several modifiers that are frequently used together, you can add them with a single click rather than for each individual modifier.

for example, in my fantasy hero game, I simply write "divine spell (-2)" as a modifier, and then make a note to the side that "divine spell" is a combination of; OAF, Only while serving gods purposes, gestures and incantations. Needless to say, entering spells into HD can get to be very tedious (only reason I bother is so my GM can see/understand the stuff easier).

Alternatively, simply being able to save custom modifiers (rather than having to redefince them each usage) would be almost as helpful.

Unfortunately, it does involve rules. Modifiers are the most rules-laden area of the system.

HD is designed to handle the application of "groups" of Modifiers through the use of lists. In other words, put the Modifiers onto a List (as Common Modifiers). Every item that you place in that list will have those Modifiers assigned to it (so long as it is in the list). What's more, only items that can legally have those Modifiers applied will be allowed into the list.

dstarfire,

Setting up spell lists as Simon described is probably the best way to do this. The only downside is that each component of your Divine Spell Limitation package will display and print seperately for each spell.

Alternatively, you could define Divine Spell (-2) as a Limited Power Limitation and then just use that for every spell. Then, use a blank Custom Power's "notes" section to define what is meant by Divine Spell (-2) and put that at the top of any page containing spells using that Limitation.

Or turn on one of the Note tabs and put it there, and either use an Export Template that outputs the Notes or modify your preferred ET to do so.

Actually, that's ideal. That way the GM can see the full details for all my powers.

Now, I hate to ask a stupid question, but where's the spell list option at? I use my friends computer and copy of HD (haven't made it that far down on my shopping list of toys), and couldn't find anything like that. I'll see if I can't find a tutorial or something for it online, and find out that way.

At the top of the Character's powers pane there is an Add List menu item.

And it's not a "SPELL LIST", its just a List. You can put modifers on a List, and any Power object placed in the list will inherit the modifers on the List.

Its useful for doing things like applying OIHID to a lot of powers all at once, organizing random powers into a single group, and so forth.

You can go to File... Preferences... Display... and uncheck "Show Common Limitations in slots on Lists/Frameworks." Then it will only list the common Limitations at the top of the list/framework itself, and won't display them again on every slot. :)
