That's not Nighthawk. It's an egyptian theamed hero named Dr. Ka. He has the mystic ability to send one part of his spirit out to roam the city and attack baddies with psi powers while the rest of his spirit stays in his body and casts spells at them.
Which I though was kind of a cool comic-book angle on egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.

It looks like it's green but there's a shadow or black on top and green on the bottomHmm. To me, it looks like the mask is black, and the dark green at the bottom is just a kind of reflection or tint picked up from the green of the costume.

But what do I know? :)
