I really liked the Hudson City cover art that Steve just posted. Really liked it. What are the chances of you guy's making a calendar available for purchase using the years best covers (without the titles and bylines and so forth)? I mean, if the local kindergarten can make and sell their own calendars . . .

Hmmm. It's certainly worth considering. Thanx for the suggestion!

That'd be excellent for my game room! I hope that there is enough demand to make it viable. It's late enough in the year that it might be hard to get it ready in time this year.

And, since these calendars usually come with the main holiday's marked, you could probably mark most of the larger con's to boot.

Hey you can put in eventful dates in the calander for CU timeline just for kicks! Even some famous quotes and the like, I think that would make it fun.

Seeker's birthday bordered in black?

I would recommend that it be given to Legion of Heroes as a "thank-you".

I like this idea too. Or the girls of Champions calendar. Either one.

I would definitaly be interested in a calender with the covers from Hero books. And since DoJ has been publishing so many books, there will never be a shortage of covers for the next year.

I can see it now: "Thanks to Howler, it's been April in my room for three months!"

Calendars ... if I could get them cheaply, I would buy them.

Oh, man! This is a great idea! I'd buy at least two copies. I love the ideas of including major con dates and Hero Universe milestone dates as "holidays"... very nerd-cool. ;)

LOL. It would be a lot better if we could find twelve pretty women who play HERO System games and would be willing to pose for the calendar (holding a Hero book, probably). But there are some daunting logistical problems there. :angst:

I've always like the idea of a covers calendar. I am researching and pow-wow'ing right now to see if it's doable

Check out this thread (http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23507&page=4&pp=15), starting at about page four. :sneaky:

I bet you could find 12 just lurking about the NGD board. Just among the ones we've seen pictures of (and whose pictures I recall), Kara, Rachel, Tina, Shelley, Mrs. Starlord, Annarie, White Heat, and Darkling Sky are all pretty. That's eight. Does Ben's wife Sarah game? That would be nine. I bet there are three more.

'Course I guess willing would be the operative word, and the sticking point... ;)

heck, I bet if I posted a competition on the NGD board we'd get plenty of willing posers. Of course the home-done photo's wouldn't be as impressive in quality. Meh, forget I said anything.

Hmph. Looks like a lot of "let's pretend on the Internet" silliness to me. ;)

Though admittedly you do seem to have a gift for one-liners.

Yeah, that's what I meant by "logistical problems," really. Getting publishable-quality photos of the volunteers, assuming we actually got any volunteers, would be tricky.

Two months from a quick calendar that I threw together. Used various covers for the calendar tops that I didn't post. I think a Hero Calendar is an awesome idea.

Could put in dates from the books. Anniversary of MC opening, and such stuff.

Well, you're welcome to submit test photos, if you think it would help convince us to do the calendar, to SteveL@herogames.com. :eg:

our region in the living greyhawk campaign actually did a "Women of Geoff" calendar using art by the artists that play in the campaign. There were several very good paintings done.... figured our region is very popular, people travel here from all over the world to play, folks generally know who the npcs are and have played adventures where they got to interact with them, hawked em at the big cons like winterfantsy, origins etc... and didn't sell very well. T-shirts good, calendars not so much. There are far too many free calendars in the world for this to make much money. I suppose if you did it as free pdf giveaway thing or just as a giveaway thing it might make sense. I have last year's diamond comics free calendar on my wall at work. Many of the months had a decent illustration.

Hmmm how about cafe press t-shirts with more illustration? Did hero ever do a viper polo shirt? :)

Has someone mentioned the idea of marking significant Champions Universe dates in the calendar? You know, Battle of Detroit, Dr. Destroyer Born, that kind of stuff? I bet the message boards could come up with a good list of important dates to include. Maybe 4 or 5 important (non-Con) dates per month?

Yes. Fluxx suggested this in the sixth post in this thread. :)

Question, and yes, its sort of outside the threads context; I have been trying to find some of the Hero books cover art to use as Desktop wallpapers. Anyone point me to where I could find some? I've checked out the free stuff but didn't find what I wanted; the cover art without the added dross, as has been suggested for the calendar.

By the way, I would IMMEDIATELY buy such a calendar if it should come out. There should be one each year, starring the previous years new releases. Oh yeah, the saliva is flowing, gotta have it.

This is a fantastic idea. The covers for the HERO books are absolutely stunning, and would make for a fantastic calendar. I'm most definately sold on it.

The only lady I KNOW of participating it that odd and somewhat disturbing thread is Tina. The others all have girls as their avatars, but for all I know (and most likely) are really 40 year old men or Martha Stewart's large, hairy cellblock neighbors.

It's probablly pretend, but not the GOOD kind.

Now, if you want to make an all Tina calendar, that's another story.

I only mentioned folks whom I've personally seen, or who've posted pictures (not their avatars) reputed to be of themselves. I have no reason to believe they're liars, so I assume the pics are legit. :)
