I am assuming you are referring to the Export Templates. They should be placed in the Export Templates folder where you installed Hero Designer.
If you are referring to the Character Templates, the go in the folder called Sample Templates where you installed Hero Designer.

Actually, character templates can go anywhere on your computer. When you go to "File -> Set Template -> Choose File..." you just navigate to the file that you downloaded.

Well when I go to download some of the templates it simply opens an httml with code on it. Most of them are files and those I have not had a problem with but the ones that are opening as html's I did not know what to do with.

Right clisk and save as. Your browser is seeing the xml headers in the file and thinking that it should just open them up for you.

This has worked on all the files exepting the ones that are opening as large pages of code. I will mess around and hopfully it will work out.

Right click. Save as.

Seriously though, I teach computer students every day, and I'm continuously amazed that they can't do certain things that we have come to take for granted such as right clicking.
