I'm trying to create a new Perk based on the old 4th Edition Dark Champions Rules. A character can have mundane equipment, but they're limited to 5 Real Points per point they spend on a "Normal Equipment" Perk. I created a new Perk in a custom Template, but when I run the program, the Perk doesn't show up on the Perk menu. I'm able to create new entries on the Fringe Benefit menu, but not a completely new Perk.

I created the Perk using Vehicle & Base as a starting point since it uses the same 1-for-5. What am I doing wrong?

(I've removed the brackets, since the board thinks they're HTML).

NORMAL_EQUIPMENT DISPLAY="Normal Equipment" LVLCOST="1" LVLVAL="5" EXCLUSIVE="No"
DEFINITION A character with this Perk has normal non-super equipment. /DEFINITION
/NORMAL_EQUIPMENT

You cannot create new Perks, Talents, Skills, or Powers in a template. You can only create new Martial Maneuvers and Disadvantages. Your best bet is to use the Custom Perk to add your "Normal Equipment" Perk. That's one of the things that it is there for.

This will teach me to read the documentation more closely.
"The list of available Perks is fixed..." p. 34.

Just a note: this is something that I'm looking to change for v2. No promises, but I'm going to try.

No problem. About an hour ago I slapped myself in the head and shouted "Moron! You can just create the Perks you need as Custom Perks, Save them as a Prefab, and give the Prefab file to the players."
That gives me the effect that I needed.
