Damage Reduction vs. NND question

Hi Steve.

Would Damage Reduction (physical & energy) reduce the damage done by an NND defined as a gas attack (like MechAssassin's tranq-grenades) ?

As a follow-up, how would you rule on this in your game ?

Gas counts as a Physical attack, unless the GM prefers to rule otherwise for some reason.
