I can imagine that this borders on the blasphemous to quite a few out there, so I'll keep myself meek. :D
The situation is this. I own Creation Workshop 1.9.5 with the Hero Creator template, but not Hero Designer nor Metacreator. Everyone and their uncles who are working on FRED-compatible HERO System templates for Hero Creator are making them compatible with Metacreator, but not with CW 1.9.5... and any request I've made to the CW community has usually been met with a unanimous "Upgrade to Metacreator!"
I'm sorry, guys, but if I'm going to waste time sending a money order via snailmail just so I can have a piece of software, I'm going to buy Hero Designer, not Metacreator. But since I do not have a credit card nor can I get off of my lazy arse to waste a couple of weeks mail ordering HD, I'm settling for this...
I'm sticking with the Hero Creator template for CW 1.9.5. I've modified it for FRED-compatibility as best as my limited programming skills can carry me. That includes mostly updating the costs of Skills, Talents, Perks, and Disadvantages. Powers are far too complex for me to modify the CDS, but I'm not worried about that. That's what the "Generic" powers are for; I just have to actually read the books as I'm creating characters so that I don't miss options available to me. I say this to emphasize I'm not looking for a revised CDS file. I don't want to bend the law that much!
My problem is that I'd like to make a print filter so that output is formatted according to the current Hero Games' Writers' Guidelines in a RTF file. There are two similar filters already in Hero Creator, but they do not format the output according to the current WG specs. And my programming skills and knowledge is limited.
I'd simply go to the CW community with this request, but I'd probably just get the same old "Upgrade to Metacreator" spewl that I always get there.
Has anyone here developed a current HGWG RTF filter for Hero Creator/CW? Anyone?
