Hi, folks. I'm hoping you can offer me guidance: Recently I've noticed that when I do any sort of Search on the boards - directed for specific keywords or user ID, or checking for New Posts - I get only the 100 newest results. This is definitely a recent change, as I can remember getting more than that not too long ago. I'm sure there's a good reason for the change, but sometimes I'd like to search farther back than that default allows. To this point I haven't been able to locate any settings that I can change to allow me to do this. (Of course I may just be too dense to find them.) :o
Is there a way for me to adjust my settings to allow for more search results? I'd appreciate any help you can offer, but if this is the way it has to be from now on I'll learn to live with it. :)

Yep, I get the same thing and can't find any way to choose it. The worst part is that if you are away for anything more than about 12 hours or so (say, if you can't get to the board until late afternoon) the new posts are well over 100.

Narrow your search criteria to limit the result set.

Would it possible to open up the New Posts to more than 100? It's really cramping my reading style.
Before this my way of reading the boards was hit "New Posts"; Go thru and open a new tab for each thread that looked good at where I'd left off.
Now I have to hit New Posts, go thru, go back to User CP, see if any subscribed threads are after the limit, go back to the various forums and see if there's anything after the time stamp on the last thread from new posts.
And is there anyway to turn off the auto "Mark Forums Read" flag? I probably could deal with the "New Posts" search limited to 100 in that case.

Well, when possible, sure. Sometimes the criteria I want to search on are just broader, though, or I don't remember enough key words to really limit the search. And as others have pointed out, that doesn't really help when you want to catch up on New Posts and don't have time to check every forum.
Like I said, though, if there's a reason why this has to be, I'll adapt. But thank you for the suggestion, Dan.

There are reasons why it has been limited.
I'm not being intentionally vague...but am not at liberty to go into details. Suffice it to say that there are reasons.

Actually, Dan, I would say that is pretty much the definition of being intentionally vague. ;)
But if you say there are reasons, then there are reasons.
After all, these boards are a free service that is offered to we, the fans, by DOJ.
If they need to make decisions about how they work, we are hardly in a position to complain.
