How to I accquire HD V2?

I have version 1.48 but when I try to upgrade to v2 I get an error that I can't communicate with the server due to a firewall and I don't have a firewall running.

Well, first off are you buying an upgrade or trying the autoupdate?

The autoupdate isn't meant to work this way.
Patches to v1 are free, patches to v2 are free, but the step from one to two costs $20.
