First, let me make sure you’re clear on one thing: the throw being referred to on 5ER 386 is the throw that follows a Grab. It’s not the same thing as a Martial Throw or other Martial Maneuver with the Throw element (UMA 96) — which does not require the attacker to first Grab his target.

See UMA 153 for rules about resisting Throw-based maneuvers; STR by itself (or from a Martial Maneuver) is not a possible method.
Damn, I've been doing Martial Throw/Escape/Reversal wrong. Oh well, better to find out the correct way now rather than later, eh?

But the STR and Martial Escape's additional STR would help against a standard (non-martial) Grab-and-Throw, since it does have to Grab before throwing, right?

So, the best ways of avoiding Martial Throws, without powers, are Acrobatics (UMA-5e.112,153) and a straight up good DCV to just plain avoid the attack.

FWIW, I'm trying to build all of the maneuvers as Powers for Multi-Powered Martial Arts and I was looking at a Martial Throw as being the same as a Grab-and-Throw but just with extra CSLs to give it a different DCV/OCV:

Throw or Grab-and-Throw (Standard Combat Maneuver): (Total: 0 Active Cost, 0 Real Cost) +0 STR; Only to Grab/Throw (-1) (Real Cost: 0) plus Standard Maneuver Penalty -2 DCV, -1 OCV (Real Cost: 0).

Martial Throw (Martial Combat Maneuver): (Total: 11 Active Cost, 11 Real Cost) +0 STR; Only to Grab/Throw (-1) (Real Cost: 0) plus +3 DCV in HTH Combat with Grab-and-Throw Maneuver (After Standard Maneuver Penalty Total +1 DCV) (Real Cost: 9) plus +1 OCV with with Grab-and-Throw Maneuver (After Standard Maneuver Penalty Total +0 OCV) (Real Cost: 2).
So, how would you build Throws (Grab-and-Throw) and Martial Throws as Powers? If possible, I'd like to do it in an officially compatible way. What sort of base Power and Advantages/Limitations would you use to build a Martial Throw as a Power to make it different from a Throw?

A Martial Escape's purpose is to help a character get out of Grabs and such. 5ER 387 notes its use to get out of Grabs before a squeeze or throw can be applied.

There is no mechanic in the Powers that would let you simulate Throw precisely. I suppose you might be able to jigger something around with CE or Telekinesis, but it wouldn't be an exact fit -- after all, that's what we have Throw for. ;)
