Digital Hero #28 will mark DH as the longest running Hero Games magazine (Adventurers Club went to 27 issues).

Any suggestions on ways to commemorate the event? Neat ideas on what to include?

An article detailing the New Circle, mystic heroes for any campaign? ;)

An index of all Characters and Adventures appearing in DH, by genre.

An article on how to run Mega-Crossover and Summer Spectacular adventures in a Champions campaign.

A three page spread of "Play-Super" Cheescake Art using official CU Heroines and Bad Girls, including interviews and commentary.

The introduction of Micro-Campaigns? ;)

Both of these sound like reasonable ideas, especially if you can pull off using some of those previous characters in a sample mega-crossover.

While I certainly can't object to the idea of the ladies in bikinies (the first Marvel Swimsuit Special was fun, the others were much less so), it would be rude to not include some of the guys for those who prefer such things.

Does HERO own the Adventurer's Club articles? Perhaps updates of a few of those (from Issue 27) could be included.

I'm thinking it might be cool to publish a few write-ups of some of the 4th Ed characters and other pre-FREd material that DOJ owns the rights to but has no interest in pursuing, including some of the old AC characters, adventures, and whatnot.

And how about an 18-month calendar (July '05-December '06) with DH covers opposite the month's events, and maybe some notable dates marked in (such as Steve Long's birthday)? :)

"You Favourite Adventures" submissions. The Member send in their favourite adventure written as an Adventure with Characters, Plot Seeds, Meta Plots, and Background on how to use it with your group.

That would be truely awesome and a great new column.

Cheers

Aw, you beat me to the punch, Dave! That's why I asked over in the Champions forum about the run of AC. I was pretty sure you were getting close to beating it out (and in under 3 years, too, versus the 12-year span of AC). Way to kick out some great work!

First of all, I'd like a double-size issue of crunchy HERO goodness. (A little greedy, aren't I?)

Secondly, one word: Adventures. Champions, Dark Champions, Pulp Hero, Star Hero, Fantasy Hero... I don't care which! Heck, do one of each!

#28 will be the March issue, right? Let's see, you've got St. Patrick's Day and Easter that month, so maybe people here can kick out some stuff related to one of those. For some reason, I just had a mental image of Foxbat forcing a group of heroes through an Easter Egg hunt...

An interview with Eliza Dushku?

Reprints of some of the hard-to-find-but-still-relevant-and-good AC articles?

If you do the index, it would be cool if it also covered AC articles, perhaps in a separate section.

Well, for starters it simply MUST be a double-sized issue.

It should include some of the good stuff from the past AC issues. If you guys own that material, that is.

A juicy adventure ...a real rock-em, sock-em kind of deal. It should feature some of the mainstays that have been left behind in the current incarnations of the enemies books...I can't think of any off hand, but I know there are some.

It should include some nice colour pics by Storn, a few maps by Keith Curtis and a bunch of other juicy tidbits that will make us all go oooooh and aaaaah.

It should be the bestest, most RoXXoR issue yet!!

I think a double-sized issue with a little bit of everything would be cool.

Hmm... anything I can send you, Dave?

Well, I've got 7 or 8 of your articles in the queue already, so I'm not sure more from you right away would help out tremendously.

What I could, though, is a flood of articles from scores of first-time contributors. So, everyone dust off that half-finished article idea and get ti ready for publication!

And here I've been thinking I'm slacking for not being able to get anything done to send to you... :p

You could always begin a revision/reprint of the old Power Point articles. You had some truly wondrous stuff over there that I bet lots of folks; a) haven't seen yet, & b) would really like to see.

Or maybe feature a reader-created character from the boards. Have someone write up their character in the same style as entries in the books, complete with 'Campaign Use' and 'Plot Seeds'. Sort of a reader appreciation contest, as it were.

Well, some of the old Power Points were interesting, but I don't want to turn DH into "The Dave Mattingly Show." And the more time I spend on rewriting my own stuff, that's less time I'm spending on publishing other people's great material.

For now, you'll have to settle for the occassional crossword puzzle or weirdo character. :)

I'd like an article defining campaign rules for various genres. These don't have to be "official", but I'd like an experienced person's take on game rules with

Game concept
DC levels
SPD ranges
CV limits, define if including maneuvers or not
restricted Powers, Advantages, whatever
Everyman skills
Required Disadvantages
etc.

Basically, a definition of the specific ruleset for a game. I'd like an article like that, whether it's in the 28th issue or later.

On another note, I think it'd be fun to have a humorous article defining munchkin powers and talking about powergamers, like the section in the 4th edition rules. I LMAO when I read that, and still laugh every time I re-read it. It could conceivably be a series of articles, focusing on one type of powergamer, quotes from fictitious games he's played in, power constructs of his characters, and how his real life contrasted with his gameplay - I bet we could get plenty of input for a particular powergamer archtype by starting a thread for each. Everyone has stories...

I myself never got to see the power point articles but understand that it was great stuff. So I would encourage you to change your mind of possible. At the end of the day good material is good material, shame to disallow it because of your modesty.
