Error opening 1.18

Hi, just installed 1.18 and I get the following error message.
An Error occurred opening your character.
Data loss may occur if the character is saved.

restart HD and try again

error 15 >=15

However if I restart I get the same message every time. The character that was open does have equipment listed. Unfortunately I cannot close the character it doesn't give me that option. I says there are no characters open but when I look at the Active Characters list one is listed. I know your updating just wanted to let you know.

I just got the same thing only with

12>=12

Well, if you open the appPrefs.xml document, you should be able to delete the entire CHARACTER FILE_LOC tag and have it not try opening the character. That way you should be able to at least get HD open. What to do about the character itself having a problem I don't know. I'm guessing the trace.log file would have something of interest to Dan in it, however.

Yeah...I've got a bug in the new equipment totalling. I'll have a new update out this weekend that will fix it.

Can I ask that someone who is getting this error email me the character file that is generating it? If possible, also include the file "trace.log" (located in your install directory).

I'm having a hell of a time replicating this error. I thought I knew where it would be (I was thinking a dumb typo on my part), but going through the code, everything looks fine. When I try using the code on various characters, it works without a hitch.

So....if you could send me a character that is having difficulties, I would be most appreciative. I'll keep fiddling on my own until then.
